Value of Full Auto Browning m1919a4?

I have an opportunity to purchase a full auto Browning m1919a4 and wondering what a decent market value is on one of these. I'm sure it is worth more than I'm willing to pay for it but I figured this opportunity doesn't come along very often. I would most likely never use it. It would just be a collectors piece and sit in the vault.
Also how rare are these? Tried finding some for sale online and came up with very little. If this is that rare of an opportunity to purchase one then I don't want to pass it up.

Thank you Papa Charlie, but I think those are all semi auto 1919's not full auto. If those are the going prices for full auto 1919's, it is much lower than I was thinking. I was expecting $15,000-$20,000. I know this will be an NFA item and I will have to go through all the proper agencies and paperwork if I decide to go forward.

I sold my Full Auto 1919, with both 308 and 30-06 barrels for $18,000+ several years ago.
I have seen them as high as $25,000 depending on what comes with them.

What is the person asking for this one?

If by collectors piece sitting in the vault, you mean investment property,
there are several factors that will affect resale desirability.
1. A DLO is not an original (so, not C&R); it's a newly manufactured (pre-86) transferable.
2. 30-06 or 7.62N configuration? This can be switched back and forth, so not that critical.
3. What tripod, accessories, belts, links, extra barrels, etc., if any?

Machinegunpriceguide puts the C&R's around 25K, and the other 1919's around $20K.

Big_Daddy, he hasn't gave me an asking price yet. He just told me that he was ready to sell it and was asking if I knew anyone that would be interested and what I thought it was worth. I told him I might be interested myself because I think it would be an interesting piece to have. I would probably keep this forever and think it is a very interesting piece to have. I don't own anything else like it and don't know anyone else that does either.

Thank you Minshooter, that is exactly what I was looking for. Thats about the price I expected. I would probably never resell it but also don't want to overpay or lowball him. It does include the tripod, not sure which one, and it is 7.62x51. Sounds like it was originally 30-06 from what he was saying. He also has belted ammo that he said he would be selling also.

Here is my friend and his back in prolly the 90's. He'd bring it to our annual Memorial Day camp-out, and enough belts for sharing the fun. It was actually an M-37 Korean war vintage, tank gun. I think basically 1919 that can be set to feed from either side. On the ground with tripod, it was a formidable weapon; that jeep mount-- not so much. I've shot it a lot, and it's easy to get the knack. I simply can not imagine being on the wrong end of a weapon like that.

By the way he sold it maybe around 2010 for eight grand. Basically gave it away. jdmachine gun Dick0001 copy.jpg

My buddy (Dick) tried lots of ammo of various surplus types when he could find a deal. One was Turkish cloth belt stuff that had to be re-linked into the links used for the Brownings. The one take away was that US ammo is the best in the world. jd

Man, just cause your friend has some cool guns is no reason to call him names….lol
