Valdada 36, March 40-60, or?

I am looking at a scope for a long range rifle.

I am impressed with the comments on the Valdada 36. I am intrigued by the March 40-60, which I realize is relatively new, but hopefully some insights into the 36-55x52 EP will provide some help in choosing between these two, optically and mechanically (tracking, etc), recognizing that the magnification is quite different.

As a way of pricing the decision to go fixed or variable, I am wondering what scope, if any, would match the optical and tracking capabilities of the Valdada 36.

TIA

I use the 36-55epz. I think it is a fine scope. The power adjustment is in the eye piece so it moves forward and back quite a bit to go between 36-55. This takes some getting use to. I use mine mostly on 40......High quality March scope that is a pleasure to use. I use a fixed 50 on my 6ppc and the 36-55 reminds me of that.

Regards
Rick

What discipline are you shooting? I had the 36x Valdada, and it is a great scope. It tracked, had great glass, good parallax adjustment, and it is very light if you have to make weight. I also thought the ocular adjustment on it was impressive. When I started focusing the reticle to my eye, there was no doubt when it was in the right spot. The reticle jumped out at you.

However, I shoot 600 yd and long range F Class, and I live in the south. We shoot in some heavy mirage, and sometimes I needed to be below 36x to see the target better through the mirage. For that reason, it didn't work for me.

Right now I'm using a March 40x fixed. Scopes like the NF BR and the Valdada have very limited elevation adjustment. If you run the numbers (plot and center the actual drop chart), you'll find that for FTR you may need something like a 25 or 30MOA base to shoot both 100 and 1000 zeros. (I could not make it to 1000 with my 20MOA base.) I have the Valdada on my PPC and the glass is fantastic. If I did a side by side comparison with the March, my hunch is the Valdada would win for clarity and focus. Good points above regarding mirage. If cost were no object, I'd buy a used March 10-60 non-HM. Either march will be great for weight savings.

I run a March 10-60 for 1k bench rest.
Plenty of adjustment, comes with zero stop, and works well in various disciplines including hunting (I know, a bit much but it works for me).
I currently own a 2.5-25 and a 5-40 ffp.
The 2.5-25 has 110moa of elevation...

For F class go variable ,new sightron 10-50 is a gerat option , Delta stryker HD 5-50 /Trijicon 5-50 great price preformance ratio , lots of elevation for long range
