Vacumn sealing powder

I have a pound or so of Varget left from an 8# jug I bought about 25 years ago. I quit shooting competitively shortly after I bought it. It has been stored in the original container, in my basement which is dry, dark and stays in the mid-60''s year around. I can't tell any difference between that old powder and a new 8# jug of Varget I bought a year ago (velocity or on the targets).

Think I'm going to take a few pics of some of the one pound tin cans I still have, and use powder from on occasion, and post them here later.

+1 on leaving it in the factory bottles... I am in the same situation with an 8lbs jug of shotgun powder , so I saved a few 1lbs bottles so when my large jugs starts to get empty I can fill the empty 1lbs bottles.... Takes up less space , I just opened a bottle of shotgun powder that's years old and still perfectly fine.... I store my powder in a box inside in the air conditioning in an unused room that my loading equipment lives in.... I do check on everything often.... Luckily with shotgun you use alot of powder fast especially skeet shooting... As long as you store your powder/primers in a climate controlled environment they will live for many many years....

I keep my powder in their original containers and store them in a “spare”
Igloo, Colman, etc cooler in a cool location.
