V4 Software Update

Tried it with the H4895 and Ingenuity this evening. Averaging around 8 - 9 seconds and very few over throws. I think the previous version was slightly more reliable for overthrows but also took around 13 seconds. Still tweaking the settings a bit. I do shim the front of the V4 up a bit to reduce overthrows of the large tube. Slowing down the finish speed seamed to control overthrows. I didn’t see much difference with the buffer setting from 0.08 to 0.02. I think the scale just needs the slower speed to settle out.

I am a tech dummy. I haven’t used my v4 since super shoot and I don’t think I want it to update after reading all this. I’m happy with it the way it is

You can try turning off all auto updates on your phone...it may be too late however.

Per Adam last week, once v1.2.2 has been autoupdated to your device, there is no going back.

I guess it already did the update on my phone.

How are the profiles saved. There is no instructions in the video or in the help area on the app as to how to save settings other than you can.

Run the calibration, tap on the profile number you want to save it under, tap the name, a pop up box will appear to type in the powder

On the sliders at the top, the fast and slow are both out of the sweet spot and running fast on this setup.
This is due to me using a shim (piece of primer box) under the back leg of the auto gizmo. I will need to get a thinner shim.

Haven't tried the new software, the old works very well with n570 - I do always set target .02 to .03 below what I want and it gets there in a hurry - with the green plastic shim in back from the shim kid. Will upgrade I guess so I can store profiles.

This is pretty frustrating. I was loading up some Garand loads for tomorrow and had to stop. I had a perfectly working v4 and now it overthrows quite a bit. I plan on watching the videos tonight. I imagine I just need to tweak it for 4895. I’m at 4 3 3 .04 which can‘t be right.

Ok. So I watched the 570 video. So far 10 out of 10 spot on exactly 46.50. 28 seconds. Now that I have the accuracy, I’ll mess with the speed. I am not at .20 gn/s but it works which is what I need tonight. Phew!

I wasn't having issues with overthrows before and not now after the update.

This is the setting I have been using for H4995. Out of ten throws, I got 2 overthrows. I could slow it down a little and avoid the overthrows but prefer not to.

I may tweak it a little more, but this works well for me.

Here where I am happily at. About 19 seconds. No overthrows. IMR 4895.
