V3 Auto trickler/throw

Want to hear feed back or tips on this set up .I have v3 up and running there are a couple of things . Do any others have powder getting plugged and how are you unplugging?
Also when hopper has substantial amount of one powder and i need to switch is there a simple way to empty hopper without running thrower until emptied ?
My set up is with Entris which does not like glass cup because of weight . So im using a lapua 22lr bullet sleeve under tray to be close enough for drop tube to deposit on tray.
Not ideal but works

If by plugging you mean powder getting hung up somewhere inside of the mechanism then you need to call and talk to Adam or email him. There is a little rubber piece inside that if you take it apart you can see and apparently some of them were installed backwards which causes bridging. He is also working on a new kind of material that is more resilient but once I talked to him and fixed that rubber piece I have had zero issues. Inside of your kit when you received it there should have been a little zip top bag with a second piece of rubber in it. I simply swap mine out and the second one has been flawless.

As far as the hopper goes like the post above says you can close it which makes taking it off much easier. I simply took a sharpie and Marked my opening and closing points but according to Adam the newer versions that are coming out right now actually have printed indicators on them. I guess the first batch they sent out of the V3 did not which is what I have.

^^^ I also marked the open/closed position. I close it off, remove it, place it over my jug and open the valve to let the unused powder flow back into the jug. I then cycle the thrower manually with the button on the app until no kernels remain. I find I have to tap the drop tube while cycling to make sure it is completely empty. As far as the drop cup, I replaced the glass cup with a stainless shot 'glass' I picked up on line. It does not fit the provided plastic handle exactly but a little tape or epoxy and it works fine. It works well with the Sartorious as it is much lighter than the glass cup and gives plenty of margin in relation to the 'overweight' condition.

@rardoin ^ just a suggestion but try cycling the throw before you remove the hopper instead of after. Sounds stupid but doing that keeps any powder at the top of the metal throw unit from jumping out if you accidentally pop the hopper off in any kind of jerky movement. Ask me how I know...:(

I have not had any plugging or blockages with mine, but so far all that I have run in it is Varget.

When I am done, I rotate the hopper to close it. Then I pick up the trickler and empty in back into the jug. Then I cycle the autothrower until all the powder is out of the lower section, then I pick up the autothrower and dump the powder back into the jug. I tap it a few times to get those grains that rest on the ledge at the bottom of the glass tune.

Yup...I do cycle it a couple of times to lower the powder column in the neck of the aluminum base before removing the hopper...learned the hard way too!

Okay gents, I'm confused. Am I mistaken, cause when I read the title of this thread it is clearly labeled "V3 Auto trickler".
I have a V3 auto trickler and I sure cannot find an open/close valve on it.

My mistake ill edit tittle .
Im asking about auto throw hopper because i dont have hopper install instructions some how missplaced. I dont remeber how hopper goes onto thrower so im asking how to empty hopper if i have powder in it without manually running thrower until hopper is empty.
Also Adam is not always available for support which is by email. So seems like a good idea to have people chime in by starting a thread .

Can you explain in more detail location of rubber ?

Manual says slide hopper into thrower .
I dont remeber this step is there a compression fit or some catch ? To remove do i just turn hopper to close valve and pull straight up?

Turn hopper to close valve, cycle thrower a few times to keep from spilling the powder in the junction, and lift off.

Not a problem sir.
I'll betcha that if you ask, one of the fine people here will email you a copy of the instructions.:)

If you take apart the unit so that you can see inside of it there is a small black piece of rubber that is on the hopper side of the cavity. That is what I’m talking about. They should’ve also been an extra one in your kit when you got it from Adam.
