Get the new Ingenuity Precision powder cup. Paul put a lot of research into it. I have been using it for three months now. Zero kernels jumping out.

Regarding the kernels falling out of the trickler tube, the IP powder meter solves that.

I still use the regular cup with a 419 top cover.
I rarely get bouncers after finding a good position for cup and trickler.

Looks like Speedy fixed his by making the platen so small, no place for kernels to cause a problem.

I "shrunk" my platen years ago. The thickness of the new aluminum platen was sized to raise the cup higher to stop powder splash.
Works like a champ!

Insure the powder drop hits the side of the cup, the grains won't bounce out. On my V3, I made a new powder cup from a stainless steel shot glass from Amazon.



Nice thing is that it is electrically conductive, so no static to hold an errant powder grain.

I cut it to the desired height, and soldered a handle on it.

I may make a new platen like I see. The 419 has a centering divot in the middle of it that the cup fits in so the cup can only be set in the center.
