Using the real big diameter dies....where do i get a cheap 1 1/2" wrench

The problem with a socket to fit 1 1/2" it will most likely be 3/4" drive and without a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter you can't use it on your normal 1/2" drive household socket set.
1/2" drive sockets set normally stop at 32mm or ~ 1 5/16".
But you could weld a handle on it ........

The real problem with sockets are they are tapered at the mouth and will not get good engagement on the thin surface. If you have a lathe and turn off about 1/4 inch then it will make much better contact.

Or a grinder if you dont have a lathe. It doesnt have to be pretty.

It would most likely need to be a grinder as the one you linked is an impact socket and they're as hard as shark's shit ! Good luck turning a bit off that unless you know what you're doing.

I just purchased the Lee Dies for 338 Lapua Magnum that are the large 1-1/4-12 thread that require me to remove the insert on my Rockchucker supreme. The insert has a hex that is 1-1/2" across flats. Is there a thin wrench made for removing that piece on a regular basis? I used a channel lock this time, but I need to get a real tool for this as I will be swapping back and forth to my smaller dies. I found wrenches on Amazon that size but they are pretty pricey. Figured someone out here may know what to get, maybe even made by RCBS, that aint too dang expensive, made for this task.

Carbide inserts are where at.

Sockets have an internal taper so they have trouble grabbing a then nut. I fix this on the lathe. You may have to grind 1/8" off of it. --Jerry

Not an issue on a lathe. Itll turn it off like it was aluminum

Carbide tool bit, the correct grade will cut impact sockets. They actually aren't as hard as standard sockets.

Dug this out of my toolbox. 1&1/2" impact socket x 1/2" drive.

Just saying here, if you can afford to shoot a 338 Lapua, you can afford a dedicated press for it.
I played that game with a Cheytac case, remove, install, remove, install.

Aw heck, just borrow a big ol' pipe wrench, lot's cheaper than buying a lathe and carbide tooling, and you might be able to get rusty trailer balls off with it...;-)
