Using competition dies with fire formed cases

Has anyone successfully used competition seating dies with cases that are neck sized only? I have John Whidden's micrometer seating die. It appears that a full length resize is necessary to use the competition seating die.

Your thoughts please.

I don't own Whidden dies, but I do it all the time with Redding bushing neck size does, and comp seaters (both Redding and Forster Ultra)dies.

I do not FL size (unless it is absolutely necessary, as in, I can't get the case to chamber, using a rubber mallet).

I have never had a problem.

I would call Whidden and see if he can modify your die to your cases. I've had this issue with Wilson hand dies and they modified the dies for proper fit. Obviously your chamber is a bit larger than what the seating die is designed for.
