USA 2000-Yard National

I plan to be there around noon on Friday to start hauling target boards and setting up. Don't forget to stop by cenex in Townsend and get your membership and key before heading out to the range.

Hopefully 2021 will turn out better on my part. - Between work and all this corona-virus crap my schedule has went to $h!t and I won't make it this year.

All The Best to all of you guys up that way. - I look forward to hearing how things went.

Do I have it right that the match is held on targets that are 2000 yards from the firing line?
In looking at the 2019 results, there's 5 shots for record for each relay on a target?
Are sighting shots allowed? Is it a two person team with a shooter and spotter?
How is scoring done - i.e., are there scoring rings? If so, what MOA are the rings?
Thanks

That's a TOUGH target - especially at 2000 yards!
Anybody get all 5 shots in the 10 ring?
No one has yet scored a 50.
Heather McGuire holds the current Score record with a 47 (14.627" group)
All the results and records can be found on the website: www.elitelrc.com
And your correct, 2000 yards can be difficult !.!.!
But some have done well every time, or almost every time.

I'll do a 2,000 yard powder ladder at -6ish, and fine tune seating after that. I got nothing else to do, might as well finish my 2,000 yard range and use it.

Tom, can I get some advice? I am shooting a 284, Kreiger barrel, 28 inches, r26, 180 sierra. cci200 with a 1 in 9 twist. I can shoot groups at 1000 yards at 2.0 inches, round groups. I am shooting at 1800 yards now and the groups in good conditions have 12 to 24 inches of vertical with only 4 to 5 inches of horizontial. What can I do to get sme of that vertical out so I can try 2000 yards?

Vertical is what we are having the hardest time fighting. There's of course "tune" which is changing, and the further you go the more "narrow" it becomes. But bullet B.C. "extreme spread" seems the main obstacle outside of the tune. I've seen some low Vertical groups with velocity extreme spread in the 15-20 range, just like at 1000yd, so i don't think that's the main culprit unless excessive.

From just a conditions related standpoint. At the 2018 event I was sighting in and centered up good for a mild right to left mirage and red flags up close. The mirage slacked off at the targets, but flags remained red up close....i fired a sighter, and it came up 30 YARDS SHORT!
