Al, I'm doing a spiral cut ham and a standing rib roast.Sounds like a dream worth pursuing.
Good shootin'-Al
PS- I just picked up a nice 17 lb. beef brisket we'll be smoking for our non-traditional Thanksgiving this weekend.
Live your dreams, so you never look back and say I wish would have...... Good luck. JeffI have had this dream in the back of my mind since I started my company. I wanted to have the Urbanrifleman shop on Main Street somewhere in a little town. Maybe in the hills. Tennessee or Arkansas. Someplace old. Where they still love Jesus. And the air is clean. There are no weed dispensaries, liquor stores or casinos. The people are simple.
We would have the shop and a few days a week we would line the sidewalk with picnic tables and serve BBQ for the townsfolk until all the meat was gone. Maybe have some bluegrass pickers. Sounds corny I suppose. H
Then I met my wife and she is like a professional level baker. And I told her my dream.
So, B and L BarBQ and Homemade Pies was born.
We are going to start looking. Maybe we will find a place. It's all in fun. But... Maybe. You never know.

Taste buds can't decide if it's peanut butter or carmel flavored, and to think he don't eat his work.Oh hell,I think I just gained five pounds looking at that beauty.
Aaahhh Anslinger and the devil weed.
In the early 2000's Tennessee was the largest producer of cannabis in the country even out producing California, just a lil food for thought.
As for Bar-b-que I wish we had more available, but sadly we have 5 dispensaries in our small town of 2000 and less places to get something to eat.
Eastern Kentucky has been on my radar, folks can still get a decent piece of land in beautiful country for not a whole Lotta $$.
You've been misled, it's just a plant that's not controlled by big pharma/government that's been around for thousands of years. This new drug is not that 1970s dirt weed everyone grew up on. This new stuff is more like hard narcotics.
THC content from the 70's was about 3%. It now runs up to 30% and is causing problems such as psychosis in users. You've been misled, it's just a plant that's not controlled by big pharma/government that's been around for thousands of years.
Now it's actually turning into a farm crop no different than anything else that's grown, other than the folks working the industry from farm to table actually have to pay a $100 fee to the state to get permitted to work in the industry.
30% + actually, with concentrates 3x that level.THC content from the 70's was about 3%. It now runs up to 30% and is causing problems such as psychosis in users.
That's different.
Save me a place, Butch!Al, I'm doing a spiral cut ham and a standing rib roast.
My grand dad raised hemp on this farm during that time, in Ky.KY was one of the largest producers of Hemp during WWII to support the War Effort. In fact we have quite a few Industrial Hemp farms around KY today. I simply say from my personal experience in 20 years as LEO that 98% of the miscreants I encountered under the influence of alcohol involved a struggle or outright fight. Never had any drama out of the THC crowd. KY legalized Medical Marijuana beginning Jan 1, 2025. I will leave the debate to another thread as Bc’z so astutely states.
As for the cake; it is a Butter recipe Yellow cake with the same fluffy white icing in the middle as the top, and the icing is a Caramel Latte flavor. Stinks up the kitchen something fierce; like you walked into Starbucks.![]()
Do you have a shop? I know you are local to me and a member of the same gun clubI have had this dream in the back of my mind since I started my company.
