Benchrest is about the smallest groups possible. If that is not what your into then Benchrest is not for you. You find the sport that fits you best. If you want rules to benefit your personal style of shooting then you need to start your own organisation.

And come to think of it, why are you getting so defensive? Do you chase the spotter zfastmalibu? Or do you just like to put five down range as fast as you can (I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that)?

Hi tech Equipment or money has ruined all sports. But in the shooting sport if the would put a time limit between shot technology wouldn't matter. Like that would ever happen. Larry

I think that you are saying, if a shooter had to wait a certain amount of time between shots...? If that is what you are saying i agree.

If people had to wait 30 second's between shots I think there would be a big difference in scores/ group size for F-class and bench rest.

I would like the NRA to implement that for a year just to see the effects. I believe it would make people a better wind reader in the long run too.

Oh well, If that's what 'ol Larr meant .....that's just nuts. First off, NRA is not affiliated with either benchrest or Benchrest. If you deem it unfair that Joe Blow can get all his record shots down range in the time it takes your fumbling fingers to get one round off, then short range score is your game....10 full minutes to shoot 5 record targets, unlimited sighters.......where pickers usually have as good a chance of winning as those dastardly runners. You'll welcome the vast sea of flags that will enable you to use your honed wind reading skills to your hearts content, and NO pit duty. 30 seconds between shots? who's going to regulate that? It's hard enough to get a rangemaster and 3 referees...now you'll need an official timer for each shooter. Who but non-competitors think this stuff up?
If you decide to start this new benchrest game, LBRA (Lethargic BenchRest ***"n) would be a fitting name.
I would stick with the gongs, too much measuring and all that math and record keeping for paper targets, especially for those with an I don't care attitude.

It was a general comment, not necessarily directed at you. I don't know any actual competitors that want to change everything, it usually comes from the guys who dont show up to matches anyhow. If we put a 30 second time period per shot in place the same guys who wanted it still wouldnt show up.

BR to me is about shooting the smallest group. Knowing when and how to shoot the record strings is a skill set in itself, that is unique to BR that is much different then F-Class and high-power, and has its own set of distinctively different demands for excellence. At least for me, F-Class and Highpower were easier to succeed then is 600/1000-B

I understand the small group aspect of it. Also, I'm sure finding the right condition to shoot a string is not easy either. I have a hard enough time finding the right condition to shoot just one bullet haha.

I shoot F-class and think it would be interesting to see how things change if you had to wait at least 30 seconds between shots. I'm not petitioning it change or anything, I just think it would be interesting. And I'm not attacking anyone's method of shooting either. I say do what works best for you.

You obviously haven't had your target pulled by a short, old guy who likes to talk to the guy next to him.

F-class two to a mound (or three even) is a far different game from the string-fire version we tend to shoot in the US.

I'll agree that a really slow puller can make life difficult for the shooter, but every time it happens to me, I become a better wind reader.

We may learn something that will apply to whatever shooting venue we support.
The rest will not meet FCSA Match rules but who cares.
Its the "hung from top" that intrigues me, and it kind of makes sense.

Patrick B. of FCSA fame recently shot a 2.045" 5-shot group at 1000 yards with his 50BMG - his is hung on centerline of bore.
What can we learn from that - for me, only that I am a piss=poor shot and need to practice more.

My new attachment for the gun. You can move the rest height. From below the barrel to above the barrel. The rest can be 6'' to 12 ''wide. The rest can have any type of bag from hard to sand. Larry

set up the same( center line) riding on bags would be like a rail gun sorta ?
