UPS Changes to Gun Shipping Policies

I am using FedEx until they say I can't (for "parts").

They are still not as cheap as UPS but the tracking is OUTSTANDING !! And they get there on time.

I figure FedEx will follow suit with UPS, it is simply a matter of time.

Y'ALL really need to consider that, at any moment, these companies could choose to not ship ANY firearm products AT ALL.

They have already privatized the Constitution. You do not have 1st Amendment rights on private Internet platforms. Heck, the PRESIDENT was banned from Twitter for his speech.

Many of the firearms people really need to stop watching Joe Biden and look at these private companies that are majority owned and controlled by a tiny handful of investment firms.

A privatized economy, completely absent of anti trust controls, is not a free economy.

I finally remembered what she told me. She told me that they would not make labels at the UPS station for firearms anymore. So in other words if you brought a firearm into UPS and needed a label they will not make you a label. You can only bring in items that have pre-made labels. So in other words if you make your own label off of stamps.com or something like that put it on your package walk it into UPS then there's no problem shipping anything. Apparently they've had some problem making the labels there I'm not really sure what the problem is but that's what she told me was the change in their policy
I bet it has more to do with not wanting firearms to come into their facilities.

Govt regulation is oft responsible for the very oligopolies it’s theoretically supposed to prevent. Nothing today succeeds with government preference, and with that preference, nothing is allowed to fail regardless how demonstrably awful an idea is (take green energy, for example.)

boils down to just how we get all that disinformation today! The fact is the thread heading is FAKE FRICKEN NEWS!! Yes You can ship any gun parts you wish thru UPS!

Far to much he said she said for folks getting there facts today!! Stop believing everything people say or post, do some research, and understand things in there entirety,,,,, or has Americans forgot how to do that today??

I just sent a revolver cylinder a week ago, if you want to doubt something, try it first, I did! And a rifle barrel a few weeks ago!

If you read this thread you will see I did and was told I couldn't send a scope but fought it. If you walked in and said you were shipping a revolver cylinder and they let you then the person letting you didn't know their new policy. That's the exception. Not the rule.

Nobody walked in! read the facts, you have a driver pick it up, the barrel I dropped at a shipping partner. No you cannot take it to a depot!!!!

The facts have been posted and read by most.
Here’s the brass tax - no FFL no shipping of firearms or firearm “products” including cylinders, barrels, stocks, triggers, etc.. Doesn’t matter if they pick up or you drop off. Period.
You must have A: a federal license B: a separate ups account and C: an approved UPS agreement.
Yes, you CAN drop it off at UPS once you’ve satisfied A,B & C and you package and print your own label. Again, this is all spelled out in their policy and whether we like it or not, UPS can tell us all to go kick rocks…
Post #100 spells it out for those of us who would like the “facts”
If you want to list the contents as “sporting goods equipment”, “adult toys” or “stainless steel tube thingy” then that’s your risk to take.
Things change and sometimes change sucks.

Respectfully, the thread heading is correct.
Yes, your also correct- You can ship any gun parts you wish thru UPS (once you satisfy their new policy, however)
Done my research. Posted everything in post #100 with citations from UPS including links so folks can read it for themselves.

If this policy changed, it changed in the past 8 to 10 days. I never fraudulently described any items when they were shipped, and my lables were printed from my UPS Choice account right here in my home. the barrel a few weeks ago was dropped at the depot and I have the letter for receipt of the package, by Waterloo Indiana depot!

I will see for myself this week if this has changed or if others are taking out of context what is stated on post 100 the 19th of this month just 8 days ago? I have been wrong before, but I will find out if my pre paid my choice label's are still able to send parts! If not,,, well I have been wrong before,, but I will not take a he said she said approach for certain clarification.

But as I said when this thread was posted, I did and legally shipped my cylinder with them knowing what was being shipped! Now if my smith would just get it done and shipped back!

Policy changed August 29th, 2022.
Citing UPS policy isn’t hearsay.
@walker2713 was kind enough to post his experience.

As I stated, and his post stated,,, "it was legal for pickup", read the sign and post he stated,
0e0a3052-0092-4307-8b5e-1d7bf7286b2b-jpeg.1369158

So if it is illeagal to ship by pickup, and preprinted lable it was after the 12th of September when he said this was posted and presented.

As far as I am aware, Ammo has been illegal to ship from a private individual for some time,,,, as far as I am aware!

Ammo is not illegal to ship from a private individual and the new policy does not apply to ammunition.

Just to be clear and prevent any kind of misunderstanding or argument. We are not talking about anything being “illegal”. Legality is really irrelevant because we are talking UPS policy. It can be legal and still violate their policy.

OK, so a rifle scope (not in the UPS firearms, gun parts definition) can be dropped off to ship at a UPS hub? Either with or without a pre-labeled package?

Or can a scope be shipped out via a scheduled pick-up?

Thanks

One bite at a time comes to mind on this subject.

So what shipping companies are going to take care of our needs and in turn increase their revenue?

The last time I used SpeeDee Delivery they sucked....lied about package delivery.

Later
