Upgrading

Like I said in another thread, I am buying a custom 6br. i am getting with it a Warner Tool die. i was thinking about upgradingall my equipment. Currently I use:

Redding t7
Redding match dies
Willson seater
K&m arbor press
RCBS de capper
Wilson trimmer lathe
21st century lathe for the necks
Rcbs hand prime
Annealeeze
Hornady Chamfer Deburring Tool

What do I need to up grade to or switch to get the most out of my reloads?

Sure like my 21st-century hand priming tool and my FX 120 scale with auto trickler system. Maybe a Giraud case trimmer would be a nice gift to yourself. I bought one for myself a few years ago and have not had any angry words about trimming sense!

Yes, a Giraud trimmer is on the list.

The 21st century priming tool, is it single load primers? Ive thought that and thT is why I have not bought one.

I use a gem pro with a omega powder trickler and seem to have good luck.

Dog dude, why? not tring to be an ass but what is wrong with it? i run it with a chargemaster. charge all my cases the double check 10 (i load 50 at a time) and I always get the correct weight. what will a better scale do for me that the gem pro cant

i own both the fx120i and a gempro.
the gempro is not an fax120i,
BUT
MY GEMPRO works...i have not had the issue and failures others talk about.

but weigh every charge and not on the chargemaster.

Mine drifted badly, sent it back and they sent another... it drifted and took forever to settle, Upgrade Regnar, you get what you pay for.

I agree. buy once cry once. i have no problem spending the money for something thst wors better than everything else. but the gem pro works for me. i dont have issues with it. If the GemPro works, stick with for now, but have a plan to upgrade. I have had the same luck as other posters with strain gauge scales like the GemPro - drifting, slow to settle, etc. The magnetic force resolution scales like the A&D FX120I are generally more accurate, do not drift, and settle faster. When I upgraded to a Sartorius GD503 (now out of production), my F Class scores improved and my time spent charging cases with powder decreased.
One other thing, I don't believe the Redding T7 is compatible with the Warner dies as the press is only tapped for 7/8" dies. If you have another press that will work, please disregard. I may have missed that in earlier posts.

Ihave an rcbs rock Chucker II that I believe I can take the busing out of. either way, I want to upgrade my press and use the turret for calibers I use very little, like for hunting.

What would be a good press to use with the warner die? i was going to get a coax but it is not compatible with the die. what press should I look at?

Your Rock Chucker will work. Remove the bushing and the die fits. Matt

I recently got that set up and it is unreal. I think it will be the demise of the Prometheus. Way worth the cash.

My experience shadows BobL. (in fact, I am still in his shadow most matches). The MFR scale with an autotrickler provides to the kernel precision/accuracy and speed. I also have a Sartorious but the A&D works just as well. If I did not get the WTC die at a great deal in a package with other items I would definitely put a MFR balance/Autotrickler much higher on the list of items that would improve my performance.

Settling time may be related to small static electric from your hands. Some scales deal with static better than others. PM sent.

With my set up, u am charging about every 12 seconds. i dump with the charge master. i take that charge and put it on the gem pro, whike the new charge is being dumped, i trrickle up to the desired charge, then dump it in the shell.i put the pan backon the gem pro, dump the charge master pan, move the funnel, trickle up and repeat. Very rarely do I have to wait for the scale to settle past that.

I did like the video and that set up though.

It's a bit of a splurge, but take a look at the Primal Rights priming tool. I have never felt there was a tool that worked all that well that you didn't have to load one primer at a time and due to that was pretty slow. The PR tool is the cats meow for priming for sure.
