Upgrade

Just upgraded my membership to silver status. I did so because I want to try to take my shooting to the next level and have been reluctant to ask a bunch of questions till I was a contributing member. So be ready for tons of questions. That being said, most of my questions are handloading related. Would it be better to start multiple threads on the subject or should I just start one thread where its more of a "Ask you guys anything" type deal?

After using the search function - where you don’t have to wait hours or days for answers that were answered years ago - start individual threads with a single topic each. Even those threads can/will morph into off-topic discussions, best to at least try to limit discussions to a single topic for each thread. Good luck with your next level goal, you’ll find a lot of great information here, and on occasion some not-so-great.

I use the search function regularly but I also want to start threads and not dredge up old threads just to chime in with a question especially if that question was kind of on or off the specific thread topic. Im just trying to learn more.

Search function contains a wealth of knowledge. Subjects that surface time after time probably get deluted. Perhaps folks with knowledge get tired of answering the same questions week after week. I often see the same question asked twice on the same page.

When starting a reloading thread always include the rifle, the caliber
and what is the intended purpose. Also barrel specifics such as length
and twist rate. It's quicker to drill down on the issue instead of wading
thru post after post of inquiries.

So as that may be.....What's all hanging below your scope ??

Welcome! First, thank you for becoming a contributing member and helping to keep this site alive!!!
I did a lot of searches and asked a bunch of newbie questions, way back when. It’s all part of the learning curve and it’s OK! What irks some of us older guys is a question like:” I just bought a 223. What’s a good load for it? I bought a new press and a die set, some 80 grain bullets and Retumbo powder.” Clearly, the guy invested O effort to learn anything on his own.
I consider myself a mid level shooter and reloader. I have learned most of the concepts but sometimes fall short on some of the finer points. There are also areas of knowledge that have me baffled. I may never get it into my head.
I try to help and answer any question that a guy asks IF I think I have a good answer. We all had to start somewhere. Just try to give as much info as you can about your equipment, process and problem.
Welcome!
Josh

Do what i do. Start a thread then go down below it and start reading the older threads !

Allot has become different in the last 5 years. Bunch of way to skin it, they all end at getting it done in a way that's safe and satisfying.
