Update Barts Bullets

This was 7-11 1st 3@1000 Barts Gungners, on 7-12 1st 3 @1000, then 9 @1000 ,pic 0016 carbon ring, #25 clean,# 27 start of rifling after 1992 shots, gonna have to order More of Barts Bullets.
Are you finding it is taking longer to get a clean barrel now that it is showing Fire Checking {#27} ?
I had a barrel like that and it was shooting OK but taking a long time and a lot of effort to get it back clean as the fire checking seemed to have a lot of copper embedded in the cracks and showing after an apparent clean but then leaving some Bore Tec Cu+2 in over night. Accuracy was good in clean barrel but once 10-15 shots started to wander. The barrel had about 3K+ rounds through it {I was the third owner} and it cost me the club F Open for the year when it finally just died in the last two events. It just would not group any more with erratic fliers 1-3 out of 10 shots.

Definitely to many rounds on a BRA, 2000 is most I’ve seen on one for benchrest accuracy, typically 16-1800 and it’s toast

No difference, the throat was highly polished with JB Bore brite & Wiches brew when new, the fire cracking does not look very deep, like normal it is still shiney

Ah yes...! First drought... Then flooding rains...!
You put in an order with everyone and then suddenly "Stock available" and you dare not say no as next time you won't be put on the "Wait List"...
Next, a visit from "Horders".... or just all your friends that don't have any supplies...;)

Always get plenty of bullets & components when available, he who Hesitates is Lost. I get a lot when on sale or free shipping, Can't have too Many., I'd rather be a Horder than bullet Poor. Down to about 5,000 6MM bullets, maybe time to Re Stock lol, w/ 40 grain V-max..223. 6.5 MM bullets add another 8-9,000, Might Need an INTERVENSION lol, you don't sort bullets do you? lol, getting a 3RD 6 BRA, Defiance Action,28 " Bartlein barrel , HS Precision stock, Night Force 15-55 Competition scope, No Wonder I have to eat Mustard & Ketchup samwiches lol, Might Need More bullets. Is there a bullet Poor Farm ??

i have an 8 twist 6br with 272 and i dont turn using peterson now. found a couple pounds of imr-8208xbr i had and am trying that. its shooting at least as good as n150 and prob a bit better.
shooting 29 of that at around 2860 or so
been using berger 105 hybrids lately which shoot good but of coarse im curious if a custom bullet would do a little better. i use the n135 in a 13 twist 6br and 68s- does good in that. ill try it in the 8tw with 105s thanks
Was down to about 6-7 pounds of H-4895, got a deal on 8lbs of N-135,I'm using Peterson w/ Rem 7 1/2's with N-135,velocity is 2890-2910fps in 1-8 twist, 2925 - 3000 fps in 7 1/2 twist depending on cases. Good luck hope you shoot Bugholes.

I would be interested in know more about your seating depth with the Gungner. How many thousand were you in or out from touch?
I’d try the Gungnirs 6 to 10 in from touch. The Hammers might be a little short on bearing surface with your Freebore but you could definitely give them a try. We don’t normally have anything in stock.

Bart

That’s what I got when I asked them about seating in my .135 freebore 6BR

I had to seat the Hammers ,.007 deeper than the Gungnirs,I seat those at touch, have not changed it, started w 1.728 on 1-8 twist .104 freebore, still there on a sinclair comparator. have tried seating deeper & shallower groups opened up.The .135freebore- 7 1/2 twist started at 1,758 still there, have Not chased the lands.

Happier than the Only Blowfly in a Slaughter House!! Another early Christmas present, a little voice in my head is telling me to order more, these came this afternoon, got to figure out Who is shooting all my bullets, powder, & primers. need someone to show me how to sort these out, believe I might catch on After 2000, lol

This is not a post for or against Barts or any other bullets. I shoot 105 hybrids in my 6br rifles. Just for curiosity a buddy and I order 500 Bart hammers. Sorry to say either my abilities and or equipment helped neither of us. They all shoot between .250 and .500 consistently. We’re just a couple average guys having fun. Your mileage may vary. Edk
