Unused LPP "berdan primed" worth anything?

I have 800 or so 1950's bulgarian and polish 7.62x25 ammo with some split necks that I'm considering pulling down for the projectiles and wondered if the primers were worth anything?

TIA,
Bill

Unless you have the proper tool for removing Berdan primers , you are wasting your time , and risking possible injury , and or damage to your tooling . Berdan cases have two primer flash holes , unlike Boxer cases .

Berdan primers are exposed, no anvil (it's in the case).
Picking them out from the outside or pushing them out from the inside will mess them up.
Hydraulic decapping is out for really old weakened cases and primers likely to be sealed.

Getting rid of that many cases with live primers might even be a hazmat problem.

I would say pull the bullets, then dump the powder to fertilize your lawn, soak the cases in some old oil and discard them, not worth messing with.

I'm just wondering out loud...

If you sold off that rare ammo... wouldn't that cover some decent new 7.62 Tokarev bullets?

If new Tokarev ammo is selling for $.40 to $.48 per round, and this stuff went for half on account of the age and condition... it would seem that you can then buy new projectiles with less trouble than pulling those apart and then still needing to dispose of live Berdan primers.

No one wants to shoot a possible split neck in their precious $200 Tok or CZ 52 even when a dime a round.

Pull the bullets, dump the powder and leave the brass alone.
I HATE BERDAN BRASS.

I see all the time 7.62x25 brass with split necks.

And as mentioned, the bullet diameter is .309" ( 7.85mm ). Still good enough to shoot in a .308" barrel.

Agree Bill.
I wouldn't either in general.
Funny thing is they still sell surplus Tokarev ammo at very near the costs of new ammo.

I had good luck with PRVI and Starline brass but don't run the caliber any more.

Sounds like the OP is stuck with pulling the bullets, cleaning them up, and scrapping the brass.
