Unturned blanks, which end for chamber?

I have a few unturned blanks that are .0002" larger at opposite end of stamping.
Talking with X Cal, they said they are worked from stamped end when honed which makes sense considering profiles and production methodology.
If the buttons are pulled toward the breach/stamped end, does it make any difference which end is chambered?

I use the stamped end for the chamber, always.

I've never measured diameter to compare ends :)

Usually when lapped, they are lapped harder at breach end. When i get a Broughton they come with the dimensions for both ends. The muzzle is always tighter. You wouldn't want to shoot a bullet through tight and then have it travel down a barrel and get looser. Matt

Did you slug it or just measure the ends? The ends usually have some bell and you need to go in .5"-1" to get an accurate measurement. All the X-Caliber's I have slugged have some choke at the muzzle but then bell at the very end that needs to be cut off.

Exactly Matt. Don't want a blunderbus effect.
I still have the question of chambering the opposite end if it is two tenths larger than the breech...why not? other than convention/we alwaysdiddit that way

Measure w .0002 pilots. Would always trim it a bit after chambering.
The lot I rcvd are extremely uniform on the whole.

Phil Quaglino chambered the stamped end AND trimmed the muzzle end back an inch or so in case of a variance in cutter or button resistance at the opening.
