Unknown Leupold

I recently purchased a Leupold 12x AO scope that has me baffled. Windage turret is conventional Leupold friction type, but the elevation turret is exactly the same as their target style scopes, tall turret, with 1/4" click adjustments. It isn't an aftermarket turret, such as Stoney Point.
Any info on this scope would be appreciated,
Thx Mike

Btw, posting photos is beyond my technical abilities. :)

^^^ this

BTW, you can call up Leupold, give them the serial number and they can tell you everything about that scope, including whether they still have parts and can work on it or not. Just in case you believe there's issues with it now or in the future. It's a simple call, yes real people answer the phone and in a timely fashion.

Mine is still going strong. also a 12x that I bought new in i think 1972 for $108 delivered. That was a lot of money for a young guy in those days. Also wish I could have had the elevation adjustment on mine like you have, but never found one to buy. 0ne fine scope on many rifles since 72.

Most likely the turret was installed in the Leupold custom shop. They also made a Varmint model with just a target turret for elevation and a standard turret for windage . Great scope as I own several.

Premier also did turret swaps and power bumps.

Had them install Mark IV turrets and bump a 6.5-20 to 14.5-36 20+ years ago. It's still clicking along nicely....
