Unintended Consequences

Any one on this board ever read this outstanding book ?????
I started on it again for the 4th time... good reading on a cold winter night..
Everyone in power should do the same thing... It's a wake up call.......

The copyright on mine goes back to 1996, it's the second printing..
Old or not it's still a good one....

Always meant to get a copy but too paranoid to order a copy with my personal info.. I'll keep looking at gun shows.

Be carefulif ordering this book. I was not and ended up with a book on liberal drivel - NOT the one mentioned here.

If anyone knows the author's name, it would eliminate the same mistake I made.

Sorry for not including the Author's name...
This is a gun culture book written by John Ross....published by the Accurate Press in St. Louis, Mo..

I think I paid a little ove $20 new when it first came out. It must be out of print for anyone to get $150 for it. But, I'll sell my copy for $125 if anyone is interested.

Around here, the 'inside joke' between folks who've read the book goes something like "...so, when are we going to build our hog farm?"

;)

Beware- I have heard that there are several versions of this book. We got the original one, but apparently, it was so contraversial, he had to re-write parts of it for later printings.
That is just something that I have heard from several sources and I have never verified it personally.

There were some rather 'racy' parts that didn't really mesh well with the main story and is probably the #1 complaint from the conservative 'target' audience... it doesn't surprise me that there were perhaps later versions that got edited accordingly.

I got a copy on inter-library loan. Doesn't get much cheaper than that. The storyline was great, but I have a hard time recommending it to friends because of the unnecessary "racy" parts. I doubt seriously that the copy I read was edited at all.

Just remove the period at the end of the link and it works to get to his site. The long and short of it is that he(John Ross) changed the name and location of a character because it matched too closely with the real life counterpart and that person complained.

I got a first edition print.. ;D before he had to "change a name"..I read it once a year, and think it should be required reading...

Got my "used" copy a few days ago. Just finished it this morning. Excellent read. Sure makes you start thinking. The author sure has a way of writing. Waiting for the sequel. Might be more truth in it than we relize? ;)
