Will these "old style" scopes take the "beating" (recoil,etc) of .308 size cartridges for a long time of use without some sort of failure? I've got a Lyman 12x that I SOMETIMES mount on a Remington 40X .308 repeater. Love the scope and tiny dot reticle BUT I'm concerned about wear and tear on the scope from this size cartridge.

I have a 25-06 ackley with a 10x unertl. As far as I know it’s been on the gun since it was built in the early 60s. It’s still sub MOA.

Looks just like mine. A 15X Ultra Varmint model bought about 1975. My front tube is 2.00: and the back tube is 1.25". SN63660. They sell for about $500-600 as a collectors item. Don't see the mag indicated anywhere on it. I probably ruined my resale value several years ago by junking the wooden box they sold in.
