Ultimatum Deadline Single Shot 284 Shehane

Hello Everyone

Ive been looking at the Ultimatum Deadline single shot action to build an F Open rifle chambered in 284 Shehane.

Has anyone else built a rifle or had any experiences with this action as a single shot and used for F Class?

Thanks for any info.

I knew nothing of the company and had to review their website. A floating bolt head isn’t common in F-Open. My only other thought about an F-Open build is that the weight limit permits a heavier than average walled action, which it doesn’t appear they use. It may be unnecessary. I just feel good knowing that actions that will have so many barrel changes over many years, and rounds fired through them are oversized.

Edit: Floating bolt head manufacturers claim that alignment is assured by the inherent allowance of slight pivoting. It’s more precise to say that the floating head just about assures equal pressure will be exerted on the lugs, but there is no reason why the bolt face of a floating head would necessarily be cut more parallel to the lugs than a fixed head.

Thank you for your reply

I see what you mean regarding the floating bolt head.
Main reason I asked was I noticed the barrel tenon for this action is 1.020" so I was thinking it would be suited to hang 30"+ barrels off it without much issue.

I have two of them, not single shot though. So far I really like them. The ejector is a little questionable at first but no problems so far. Nice smooth three lug. Not better than my bat but I'm using them for hunting rifles. For a comp rifle would still go bat

How questionable? Like too strong?

I should have been more clear, I'd run the bat because I run a cone nose bolt on my single shot rifles. Not because of quality. I'm actually thinking of a long action deadline for a 300 Norma build

The ejector claw and the way dovetails into the bolt. Nothing to do with plungers. Several of my bench rest rifles don't even have them. Don't want necks messed up hitting the ground

The ejectors are the spring loaded plungers in the bolt face. The, “claw” is an extractor.

Well excuse me!! Why is there always someone suffering from little dick syndrome on these threads. Just trying to contribute some positive information unlike you.

little dick syndrome is someone getting butthurt because they were corrected on using the wrong term thus creating confusion for others.

a simple “ hey thanks for clarifying that, now I know” is all that is needed.

Technology you are correct, sorry for posting while I've got 10 other things going on. I'm sure most sensible people including the OP got the point. I'm not at all "butthurt". Just seems there are better ways of questioning a honest slip up than "what 3 ejectors". A simple "do you mean extractor" and I would have said yes, sorry my mistake. It's all good, I'll leave with you to figure out, go things to do.

Or you could have went back and edited your post.
