Tim, FWIW, I didn't know that you had a hand in it. Not that it matters, because I'd still say the same thing. It obviously doesn't shoot bad...he won with it! I don't tune my rifles in 25mph switchy conditions for the same reason as my previous post. It simply leaves a lot of variables on the table when conditions are really nasty. He says it shoots though, and I believe him. The logic is sound too..a higher bc bullet should be more forgiving in tough conditions. I think you're reading way too much into my post. It was in no way to say that the gun will or won't shoot. It only means what it says...that conditions made it a shooter's day, not a good day to evaluate ultimate potential accuracy. Nothing more, nothing less. Thanks for clearing that up. I`m of the opinion the new chambering spoke quite well of its potential, especially with such a talented field, excluding yourself of course, with fireform loads. I am still amazed. I would think you would have shared this opinion. But I know how competitors are from being one myself!!!
I`m always happy when someone shoots well with something I have had my hands on, I know you know that feeling. Working with Larry is quite nice as he is simply a super nice fella. I`ll do all I can to help him.
I'm amazed too...that you seem to be making a big deal of nothing, speaking strictly of my comments.
It was a big deal that he won, though. Congrats go to him. If you barreled the rifle, congrats to you too.
Have you any idea how much grief I took for shooting my 30 Major(necked up Grendel) for the last 11 years now? I've been told I was re-inventing the wheel..will never compete with a 30BR, too small, too big, what's the point..7.62x39 ...I would've won if I was shooting a Br...not enough powders options, and the list is long, of the things I was told that was wrong with it. I didn't say anything like that about Larry's new gun and never even thought like that. Now, that same little necked up Grendel case owns a lot of wins and owns the world record 5 shot 100 yard group. If you know anything at all about me, it should be that I LOVE it when someone experiments with something new and it works!! That's a big part of why I love this sport..testing new things..and proving them to work or not.
I very much hope that Larry's gun and any new cartridge he uses turns the game upside down! I'm so tired of hearing that you're pissing up a rope with anything but a 6ppc or a 30BR! Or that "that's what all the top shooters do"! I'm excited for Larry and for you! I hope it works GREAT.
Now just please stop putting words in my mouth that I did not say nor intend to be taken at anything more than face value. Geesh!
