UBR 2017 schedule

Is there a tentative 2017 UBR schedule out yet, Unfortunately I have to put my vacation for next year in by Dec 15 and it's coming up soon. Thanks
 
I've been watching for them to start posting on their website, but nothing as of this morning. If you know Danny or Rick you might call one or both of them as your time to post vacation is getting critical. Looking at last years schedule, a fellow could find a UBR Match about any weekend if you didn't mind driving a few hours. WD

I really like shooting ubr, learned a lot and buying a 30 br barrel to hopefully be a little more competitive then my 308. New Customs dies, plan on actually traveling a few weekends to see how everyone else is doing. Any pointers on cases and bullets to use. Also wondering about if they are planning on still having them at hil side.

When I get to shoot one of their matches I shoot a ppc and or a 6BR so I'd be lost on bullets etc for a 30 BR.

And I sure hope Hillside (and a few others near us ) have them this coming year. I really like the format and targets.

I believe they are starting to get some dates together in the very near future. So I bumped the thread up so that Rick or someone else could begin posting on them. WD

Hi Terry, I didn't see any on last year's schedule. The nearest one to central Ohio was Ft. Wayne Indiana.

There are 2 ranges/clubs here that are (at this point) are rumored to have "several" matches each this year. I've shot this format only 3 times last year and I REALLY like it.

Specifically I like the caliber specific targets, the amount of shooting that constitutes a match, and the ability to take just about any really good shooting rifle that you like in the 3 calibers that there are targets for and there's a class that you can fit into. JME.

With the good shooters you have in your area, it could be a great fit for you. WD

I spoke with Danny late last week and we talked about the matches I'll be involved with. I think that is why the schedule has been started. It is definitely NOT complete at this time. I'm sure that matches at Buck Creek and BGSL will be added and I expect Hillside and the range near WV will be as well (forgot the name sorry). Of course Brock's Gap in Hoover AL will be on the 3rd Saturday all year as well. And I expect that River Bend will be holding UBR matches on alternating months. The first this year will be on Feb 11th.

UBR matches can be held anywhere in the country, but it is advantageous to be close enough to shoot at one other range during the season so that shooters can qualify for SSOY points. There is no membership in any organization required. The range pays an annual $25 fee to hold matches and targets are available fro Danny Hensley or I can get them for you as well. Anyone interested in giving this a try should feel free to contact me and I'll help you get things started.

Thanks for all your help and running great matches Rick, I'll start working on swaps for the dates I'm not scheduled off. We are looking forward to learning more from you and all the guys that school me every match. Troy

I spoke with Danny last week and confirmed the dates of the matches I will be involved with. My guess is that he hasn't heard from the other match directors. I am sure that Buck Creek will shoot on the 3rd Saturday of alternating months. I also expect that Hillside and the WV range will be added. Brock's Gap in Hoover AL will shoot the 3rd Saturday of every month all year and River Bend will shoot UBR on alternating months beginning in February on the 11th. There may be other ranges that I am not aware of.

Just to add, there is no individual membership requirement to shoot UBR. The annual range fee is $25 and the targets can be obtained from Danny Hensley or I can help with that as well. It is even better if a shooter can compete at two ranges once during the season as they can be included in SSOY competition. If anyone wants additional info feel free to contact me by email or phone.

Rick,,are you sure Buck Creek will be ever month this year?? it would make it easier on me to make a Match a month and sometimes 2 with a match on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays ever month..my work schedule is weird also and getting off can be a hassle sometimes,,I work 3 days and off 3 days and it rotates back a day a week so I work 3 Saturdays in a row and off 3 in a row,,

My bad. Meant to say every other or alternating months. Won't know for sure until I hear from Jackie or Danny, but that's what he's done for the past few years. BGSL (Wilmore) will probably shoot on Sundays, alternating months.
Sorry for the error. This will all be clearer as soon as every body decides on thier schedules.
