Two Dima stocks lost from UPS

I ship between 800 and 1000 packages a week with UPS (non firearm related) and stuff gets lost, misdelivered, a trailer gets moved and not unloaded for a while, stuck in the miles of conveyer belts, driver gets in an accident, etm. I've even seen a carrier driving with a package sitting on the rear step of the truck. UPS is the only carrier that will routinely pay out on claims.

Several years ago an AR barrel manufacturer had a couple dozen packages always go missing at the same spot in tracking (Atlanta), over the course of a few months. He notified FedEx with all missing packages and they actually got the FBI involved and found a couple employees were stealing everything to resell. Found this out because a barrel my dad had ordered was one that went missing.

For gun parts, if they are already packaged in a box no one is going to know any different. Have a prepaid label, slap it on there and drop it off at a counter or wherever you ship... If insurance is needed do wheat needs done. I'm assuming a person can have an account and ship from home via pickup with a printed out label. I could be wrong in how I'm saying this, but it comes from observations. Maybe issues lie regionally as well, via drivers, loaders or counter workers.
This is exactly what I do.
I use pirate ship

No more hassle at all.

Dima may want to change their shipper to USPS. I didnt think I would ever suggest that but with UPS and FexEx rules these days they don't want to be caught with any gun parts that didn't get shipped by an FFL that has previously registered with them.

See it's not just guns. It's gun related parts getting stolen too.

Plain boxes. No gun related names. No name brands on the box. Follow the UPS rules. Use ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED (yes I have customers that complain, but I'm over it). Insure for full value.

I have customers that complain about shipping prices. I'm actually following the UPS rules to the letter. Adult signature costs $8.50.

I had a customer ship back a barrel for more work and they reshipped it back and then I used the same box to ship it back. The UPS counter worker removed the RFID tag from my box right in front of me. And told me all firearms account shipments get RFID. You can ONLY ship firearms parts on an APPROVED firearms account.
I think I'll put "Cologuard" on the outside of all my shipping boxes!!

NOTHING gets lost by these carriers, they are STOLEN by employees of them. Many vendors are now adding the ability for low cost insurance against theft before shipping, or requiring it.

I strongly suggest paying the extra couple of bucks and getting that insurance.
They can and do deny the claim insurance is a joke. The postal service is the same way. They will say it was not packaged properly.

I have used usps almost exclusively for the last ten years shipping stuff out of here every week. Things have gone missing for a while, but knock on wood nothing has ever been lost. The worst one took 3 months to finally get to the customer, but it did get there. Usually after you file the claim they go find it and it starts moving again.

Isn't signature required just to protect the shipper so the recipient can't claim he/she never received the package when it was actually delivered? What does it have to do with the item getting lost? Does it actually add another layer of security like registered mail? I'm pretty ignorant about shipping stuff.
It's just a verification of delivery that protects shipper and carrier.

Didn't you recently have a rifle go "missing" ?

They did to me! Bullets were double packaged and it still broke open, they told me it should have been class A and then I had to explain it was lead and copper not a loaded cartridge, still denied.

Exactly what happened to me this past month. Stock shipped in plain cardboard 36x6x6 package. Didn't receive shipping updates and wasn't delivered for two weeks... put in missing package claim and suddenly showed up.

I shipped a barreled action to my smith a couple of weeks ago. In the “description “ box I wrote “rifle parts” and the program kicked it back saying it was a prohibited item. I started a new form but this time wrote “barreled action and It worked. A Bordan action and Brux barrel ain’t cheap so In so I insured it for 2K then later realized they wouldn’t payout any way.
