Twist?

I have a bartlein light varmint 32inch 1 in 12twist barrel on my 308 , it shoots berger hybrids 155's half MOA all the way out to 1000 yards, will this barrel be suitable for the heavier 185's or do I need to change the barrel.?

Depending on how fast you can push the 185's they may stabilize.

I'd opt for a 1:10" twist...personally!

can't get my hands on 185's at the moment , was thinking of getting a new barrel,that would also shoot the 210,s but if my own would shoot the 185,s successfully I would not bother.

I expect the 185s will work for you. They probably just about as heavy as you can go, but try Berger 185s or 190s in that barrel.

I shoot the Berger 185 Juggernauts and VLDs with a 12" twist .308 and they shoot very well. Using 43-43.5 gr. Varget with the same barrel as yours for just about 2700 fps. Some complain that that is too slow but they are supersonic at 1000 and buck the wind well. I did try some H4359 (47-48 grains) for 2750+ but not quite as accurate as the Varget for me.

i shoot the 185 vld out of my 1/12 Krieger 30" all the time. 2600fps shoots good 2800fps shoots better if your rifle will take the pressure. Its a stout load.
