Twist rates for 6.5m 142 gn bullets

So far I have only played with 22, 6mm and 7mm cartridges, no 6.5s of my own yet. I am building one up to shoot 140-142gn pills at about 2950 fps for F class. I see that 8.5" twist is very popular, but I was after aBroughton who only makes them in 8 or 9" twist.

Are the 9" twist barrels good enough for peak accuraccy, in all weather conditions (not freezing, but sea level), or are they too marginal in stability?

9" twist is marginal - run with an 8" in a Broughton.

Get the 8 it will work with most any bullet.

Yes, 8 twist. I've even seen guys on here with 8.5 twist saying they were having a hard time stabilizing 140 class bullets.
