TWIST QUESTION

IS 7.5 "TOO MUCH" for 105-108 bullets in a Dasher or BRX.
I ordered a Krieger Barrel with a one in 7.5 twist , thinking I would do a 6XC. But now have my doubts
that it will be as "accurate" as brx.

No, 7.5 ought to be excellent in either, or 6XC / 6x47.

Maybe a tad on the fast side in anything having more case capacity (6x284, 243, 6-06, etc.) where the heavies could be @ 3,100+ fps.

I'm shooting a long range (sling) 30" 1:7.8 5R Bartlein chambered in 6XC the last two years with outstanding results out to 1,200 yards with the Berger 105VLD at 3,125 fps.

I've got a couple of 6x47s in Krieger .236" bore 1:7.5tw bbls, and think it's less than an ideal combination. I blew up several Berger 108 BTHPs during a BR Varmint Silhouette match last month, a first for this bbl., and I've had it up & shooting for a couple of years now. Bore at the muzzle was heavily copper fouled when I got it home & borescoped it, even though all bullets were moly'd.

After that experience, I'm thinking the .236" bore may be a bit on the tight side for the 7.5tw with a cartridge with the capacity of the 6x47, though it would probably be fine with a BRX or Dasher. This bbl. shoots DTAC 115s 'lights-out', so perhaps it's just the thin-jacketed Bergers. Whatever - if I ever order another 1:7.5 from Krieger, it'll have a .237" bore.
