Twist Question

Will a Remington VLS chambered in 243 Win with a 9 1/4 twist have a chance in stabilizing the 105 grn A-Max? It seems to like the 87 grn V-Max real well, I am hoping to slay some P-Dogs past 600yds this May. Just thinking about a bullet with a little higher BC, or does the V-Max have the stuff to perform past 600?

The 87grn V-Max will perform past 600 yards. Your barrel may stabilize the 105grn A-Max. All you can do is try them and see how they shoot. The 105grn A-Max performs well on varmint at close range as well as the longer ranges, too.

A friend of mine has 1000yd kills on Va groundhog using a 6mm Rem. with the 87 Vmax.

Thanks you guys,

I recently got the rifle and have been tweaking on it. I have tried a few loads in it, and the V-max bullets have shot the best. I think I will get a box of the A-Max and give them a try. Do you gus have any suggestions for some powders to try?

i shoot a remington sps varminter with a 9 1/4tw and it shot the 105A-max to 500yds fairly well.the 90gr scenar kicked its butt though!

stick with the 87v-max then try the 90gr scenar.
yes,they perform very well on deer and groundhogs.
i think the 105 is a little on the heavy side.

You should be good out to about 600/700 yds. Had a nine twist that was key holeing at 800. To go out that far you will need
8/8,5 twist.
