Twist and 115DTAC's

I have a new 8 1/2 twist barrel for my 6-284 , do you think it will stabilize the 115's or do I need to stick to my 93 Scenars? JVON

I doubt an 8 and 1/2 will do the job, a true 8 will be marginal, but will work. Screaming out a 105 ish class will out perform. Try it anyways and let us know what you find.

Which 115?

If the Berger, most assuredly not; they need 1:7, maybe 1:7.5 at bare minimum. The DTAC needs 1:8 & even then might not work reliably at the speeds your cartridge is capable of.

Were I in your position I'd look at the two 95 grain Berger products (classic hunter or VLD) first.

JVON, don't waste your time, a 8.5 twist with a DTAC will not work. An 8 twist is at best marginal, and then not as good as a 7.8 - 7.5 twist.
