Years ago my father in law wanted a 30-30 saddle ring carbine just like John Wayne! Now my FIL even though being raised on a farm was not very gun savvy, and not to smart anyway but I found him a nice old Win 94 marked .30 Win CF, the old marking of the 30-30. So guess WTF did he do? Bought some 30 carbine ammo and loaded it up and tried to fire it....luckily they jammed in the action and he brought it back to me to fix things. I should have known better. He's now passed and my youngest son who was with me when I bought the 30-30 now has that rifle.
