Turret Press?

I love my Harrell's turret press and have a separate turret for each cartridge. The price is similar to the Redding. While the Redding is built like a tank, I think the Harrells is faster/easier to move the turret from position to position. It produces very concentric ammo.

Looking at your initial post I'm thinking that a simple Lee turret press would do everything you are looking to do both pistol and rifle. They are simple, inexpensive and quick to change turrets. I have used Dillons, Forsters and Lees. I sold my Dillons when I got out of high volume pistol loading. I basically use a single stage press now but still have my old lee turret hanging on the wall for higher production when I'm not concerned w/ teeny groups. One other thing is that the lee turret is capable of self indexing for semi-progressive loading.

I'm only loading rifle for accuracy. no pistol. Currently I have the RCBS Rockchucker that I do most of my loading on. Then I have a small little open "C" type (I guess you could call it) from Lee that I use for simple non accuracy steps. I don't feel comfortable using that little Lee for anything that has to do with bullet seating or sizing. Plus it is not large enough for sizing. Not enough leverage on that little guy.

What I want is something that will simplify my reloading process that will compromise accuracy or consistency. So both the turret presses and the Co-Ax are on the top of the list. But I feel like the Co-Ax will consistently load more accurate and concentric loads then a major name brand turret. I have no proof that a turret press will load less concentric and accurate loads then a turret. It is just something I am concerned with. But since I'm not loading for competition then I probably shouldn't worry about that.

I love that Herrell. I always thought that it was out of my price range. Or at least it was the last time I priced it. But now that you mention that it is close in price to the Redding then I will absolutely be looking at that press. I think that could be the answer.

Is there any operation that the Harrell press can not handle on standard high power type loads? Other then loading 50bmg or something like that.

It's a great press for 308-sized and smaller cartridges. As you can see from the pictures, I float my dies and then make sure they "cam-over" Concentricity is excellent. This is not a huge press. So, if you are looking for major re-forming operations or big magnum cartridges, the Redding is probably a better fit.

I have a RCBS RC that I can use for reforming if needed. but I think the Harrells is the ticket. Thanks again.
