Turning necks for .265 tight neck 6br

Happy 4th to all,gun is Remington 700 action with krieger barrel with a .265 tight neck,i turned all brass down to .0095 neck thickness,(21st century neck turning equipment) which gives me a loaded round of .262,and shoots very good,105 vlds,I bump shoulders back .002 using a wilson full length bushing die set, (Stony point comparator)i anneal after every firing, single digit ES and SD,but recently i will encounter a stiffer bolt close with some rounds? 3 outta 30 maybe? i pull the round back out and take shoulder measurements, which are good,OAL is good,i believe im getting a doughnut developing right at the base of the neck?I have found a few pieces of resized brass that the shoulder was pushed back a little more, maybe .004,i will be ordering a Redding competition shell holder set to help with cam over,i want to run my brass back through the neck turner to get rid of the maybe doughnut?but i need to size back down to use my expander mandrel for the proper fit on turning mandrel, but what i have read on this site says to use a regular full length resizing die not a die with bushings, which is what i have (wilson) but? a regular die prolly wont even touch the OD the neck because its a .265 neck,my fired neck measures .2645, and a bushing die can create a "step"at neck shoulder junction, can i use my bushing die yet?and turn into shoulder a "little" more,I will make sure all my brass is trim too length before turning, Thank you for any opinions, comments, etc Rooster

Have you identified where the case/bullet is contacting the chamber/barrel? Closely examine the next round(s) you eject after stiff bolt closure for burnish marks and/or scratches.

Most shooters nowadays design the length of the throat so that the straight shank of the bullet comes no where near the neck shoulder junction. In truth, that is the real culprit when a donut forms.

Regardless of your efforts, repeated sizing will cause a donut. It is the nature of how the metal flows upon each firing and sizing cycle.

your best cure might be to remove the barrel and by using a throated, increase the throat so that the boat tail/ shank junction on the bullet is at least .090 above the neck shoulder junction of the case.

This might sound draconian, but it solves all of your problems.

You can rent a throater and with a little patience and the correct fit bushing, do this yourself. A year ago, I actually throated a barrel for a friend with it still in the action. The important thing to remember is finding “ground zero” for the throater and gently going in a little at a time until the desired depth is reached.

Well, if you neck turn then I have to assume you also measure neck thickness.
So what does the donut area brass measure?

Listen to Jackie, I give my barrel guy a dummy round with my bullet of choice(pressure ring) half way down the neck. He throats it so the bullet ogive gets a tiny marking from lands. Good to go...in or out. Never a pressure ring concern.
