I realize this is outside of the realm of rifle smithing but on the other hand this community is more receptive to the notion that specific loads yield specific results. Some in this group have the tools, instruments, knowledge and skills to do it . Just looking for anyone who has turned their own chokes and any wisdom they would care to share including choke stock selection and choke dimensions. I have a lot invested in Briley and other removable choke tubes and the ones fit to the gun's barrels when the barrels were fit with gage tubes for skeet outshine the rest.

I did a lot of shotgun load development. The best thing I ever found to improve patterns was slow the load down. 1090-1125fps loads pattern very well and good breaks turn into inkballs. Different wads have a lot to do with it too. Good fixed chokes can pattern better than Brileys but slow it down with the right powder and wad combo and it won't make a damn bit of difference. I shot trap for a lot of years and my load for everything was 1090fps with Clays and a Claybuster AA wad and 8.5 shot. A lot of guys argued that load wouldn't work at 27 yards, well I paid for a Perazzi combo gun with it. AA27AA.
I agree that loads can be talored to each choke and that fixed chokes are better in premium guns. My Perazzi live bird gun is a fixed choke gun as is my Krieghoff trap gun . My Beretta 682 tube gun was until I had Briley tube and choke it. Slow, low pressure loads also tend to yield more uniform patterns. I know all of that. I wanted to hear from those that have made their own screw in chokes for better performance.

His designs are revolutionary.
A small example of what he did for me,
I took him my benelli sbe and the turkey loads I wanted to shoot, he custom built the choke to match my shells, and it made a HUGE difference. I feel very comfortable shooting Turkey's at 65 yards with dead birds every single time, I have shot a cobbler on film ( we used to have an outdoor tv show) at 80.5 yards, in slow motion you can clearly see it was no stray shot, the pattern engulfed the entire bird.
