Turning before or after converting

So here a question dealing with on of my current projects. So to form my .22 TCM brass im cutting about half of a .223/ 5.56 case in half.... But it's too thick, at least the wolf brass I've made my last batch out of, and im having issues with chambering and extraction.. whatever just an excuse to play with some more advanced reloading stuff, in this case neck turning :D . Anyhow the question... Would it be better to turn the case when it is in the ...non converted, I guess would be the term, version or wait till I convert it over then turn it ?
Any possible benefits to doing it before vs after?

O and also what's a decent deal to start off with when it comes sto neck turning? Especially small cases ? Looking at the little KM deal
Thanks

I think it would be best to turn the neck after you have converted the donor .223 brass into .22 TCM. This will ensure most uniform neck wall thickness. Depending upon the neck turning equipment that you plan to use the short case length may create a different challenge.

I just placed a .22 TCM spent case on a .22 neck turning arbor from 21st Century. The case bottoms out (tip of arbor touching bottom of case (top of the webbing) with the case mouth about 1/8" short of making contact with the shoulder of the arbor, which is fine. If you plan to use a 3-way cutter setup (turns neck and chamfers inside & outside of case mouth) then you will need to just check the fit.
