Turned my brass green!

Wondering if I messed up or if it's permanent? I usually tumble my brass after I ultra sonically clean it. I use the Hornday solution. Today was a busy day with birthday parties for both of my kids. The brass was in the solution for 9 or 10 hours. This happen to any of you before?

I have tried several different mixtures of cleaning stuff and had brass turn different colors. I don't think it hurts the brass and you should be able to get them yellow again by tumbleing them. I also use the Hornady cleaner now.

Good news! The green came off with a 25% vinegar solution! I also don't think I'll be using the Hornady solution any more. The vinegar with a drop of dish detergent works wonders! I then ran the brass through a cycle in tap water after rinsing them under the tap.

WHEW!!!!!

I wouldn't blame it on Hornady as I don't think they intended it as a soaking agent. If that was your first use, you could give it another try before you give up.

I have used Hornady before and I do not believe they intended it as a soaking agent. I am not blaming Hornady either. I am just impressed with the vinegar!
