No doubt this website would excel with an airgun column, but there is already a great site available.Maybe we need an Airgun Gun page. Sounds like there is interest in it and I see it growing. Maybe a Springer page and a PCP page. How about chipmunk shoots, 50, 75, and 100 yds, like the current popular groundhogs shoots.
bobm, yes it is a good forum but I would enjoy communicating with centerfireNo doubt this website would excel with an airgun column, but there is already a great site available.
I'll second the motion...Maybe we need an Airgun Gun page. Sounds like there is interest in it and I see it growing.

I’ve said it for couple years now my to 300s are my most favorite rifles to shoot, they shoot one tiny hole for there distance designed for ,with triggers in low ounces just like my bench guns, great practice!!
No crying, I share with you. Your lucky, your on my wife's good guy list....and it is a tiny list. Glad to now have your new schedule in my calendar. Any Pa shooters missing Jesse's Mifflin Sportsmen Club shoots is passing up a good time. Now back to my homemade toast and applebutter. What Jeff no teasing us with coffee and homemade bread with apple butter on it. No absolutely delicious blueberry muffins that I'm damn glad I only shared with one person, besides me.
I for another would like to see a airgun section. I've enjoyed the back and forth on Springers and PCP's. I'm more of a small caliber cf guy and a colony varmint shooter. The PCP was an add on to my cf's for shooting GS's with more of a challenge at less than a 100 yds. I've really got addicted to the air rifle since. The target is the first two groups at AOA's indoor range four years ago with my FX 25 cal Wildcat. The group right below the 6'oclock was the salesman's. My group (5-shots) was right below the number 3 on the left side of the target holding on the 3 number. I bought it...LOL! 7315brI'll second the motion...
Baby steps. Anyways, why separate us; it's fun when the super strokers and one-pump-chumps get to debating![]()

I'd like to do PCP, but my God the cost! I had to retire last March for medical reasons before I was ready, so PCP is just out of reach for me financially right now.I haven't been bitten by the PCP bug.............. yet.
The guys I shoot rimfire with in the summer, shoot 10m indoor air rifles in the winter. I shoot with them when I'm off work, these are fun matches with no prizes. As a group we are pretty competitive and there are some expensive rifles in the group. Most of the time I'll shoot one of my 300S's and there are a couple other guys that shoot them too. I also have a FWB 601 SSP, it gives up very little if anything to PCP's. Last week I shot the 601 and got beat by a FWB PCP, he shot 499/500 and I shot 497/500 and screwed up one of the last three bulls I shot. I prefer my springers but do like to keep the PCP guys in check. LOL

Thanks, I will do that. Spare money is spent now on HW97K, hopefully receiving tomorrow.Watch Pyramyd Air for sales on some of their combos. I got a Hatsan Bullboss for ~$550 after Christmas two years ago and it came with a hand pump. I see Benjamin Marauder combo kits like such as well. Mine is very accurate, and I've read the Benjamin's are as well. The Benjamin also has an excellent aftermarket and lots of tuning info available.
Dusty Stevens gave a good idea. Check with your local volunteer fire department. He gets his filled pretty cheap. He said 2 bottles per summer. Sounds like a good way to go...But, I still like "All I need is a tin of pellets."On a side note, almost everybody I've read who started out with a hand pump got an air compressor as quickly as possible. I've done just a little research - and a good one isn't cheap either.
The Dive Shop just called this morning. One of my (Fire Fighter 4500psi 66cf) tanks is ready. $18.00. I'll get about (900) .25 caliber pellets through the tank before it needs refilling. That's pretty cheap to me. Danoh should look for Fire Fighter tanks with some time left on them for both manufacturer date and recert date. I just bought (3) more I found for $35 each. Four years left on manufacturer date and they need a new recert for $35 each including an air fill. Don't get much cheaper than that in my opinion! As far as PCP air guns go...I've bought two used FX .25 cal. Wildcats for friends recently for $900 each including shipping by taking my time looking. New PCP's are expensive...no doubt, but my experience is the resell value is not that great. A new top-notch springer like the TX-200 is over $700 bucks. Ya don't necessarily need a compressor...BUT you do need to think your way through before putting one of these PCP's together. I've timed my refills in the shooting field from the supply (Fire Fighter) tank to the rifle in one minute. Not hard to do. As I've said on this thread before...have a good time with either Springer or PCP if you are just shooting targets. If you're hunting...PCP. Best of luck on your decision. 7315brDusty Stevens gave a good idea. Check with your local volunteer fire department. He gets his filled pretty cheap. He said 2 bottles per summer.
