Tula / Wolf primers

What is the difference between the .223 small rifle, small rifle primers and small rifle magnum i seen it posted some were but can't find it again. thanks Mark

Yeah, the numbers don't tell you much and the descriptions are confusing at best.

From what I've been told: for both brands, the KVB223 is their standard small rifle primer, the KVB223M is the same standard primer charge with a magnum-weight cup, the KVB556M is a magnum primer in all respects - stronger charge in the heavier cup.

I've been using original, Murom Plant "Russian" KVB223 primers for several years but they tend to crater in most applications. About six weeks ago I got the info above from a vendor, ordered a case of the 223M primers & have been very happy with the results. Cratering doesn't happen & I'm getting seriously better SD's & groups with them compared to more costly alternatives.
