TS Customs RimX Build - The first 1000 rounds.

I really really like the thought of .22 rifles being something to create passion (and it's very apparent that it does) and shooting lots of ammo....

Lets look at the common denominator here. We love to shoot rimfire. The more the better....

I am responding to you saying it is the best rimfire action and the new APEX of rimfire. It may well be but right now it is not.
Oh, I see what you're saying. So I say, "it is the very best"... having had experience with literally everything else... and you say "no it's not." OK. Well done. You think this is the first time I've made a claim like that, and had people just like you on my back? Then after time passes what I say is proven correct. Just in the past few years, Tangent Theta optics and our CPS, went down the exact same way. Best is best, and I've made a career and several very successful businesses out of having the experience to identify it. Always someone looking to argue, and I'm past caring. All forums are is arguing, based around exactly the kind of posts you've made. ... as if your opinion is suppose to carry more weight than mine. Want to compare resumes? We going to have a shoot-off? Would that make you feel better, or worse, ya think? Show some class and leave ME and this thread at peace. Make your OWN thread with your OWN opinions if you like. I'm quite confident I've earned my opinions, and those that know me have no doubt of it. Yet I have ZERO interest in trying to "convince" you of it. You think I'd post to YOUR contrary in a thread started specifically to share YOUR opinion of a product? Show. Some. Class.

orkan, Can you tell me about the trigger.. .....adjustable to what weight ?
Total weight of the gun with a scope ?
Triggertech diamond... which I'm having hang-firing issues with. It's not functioning properly at all. It does it from 8 ounces all the way up to 2lbs. I have others coming to try. Rifle as pictured weighs in right about 18lbs.

Any possibility of a 2ounce Jewell trigger going in there ?
If you want to send me one to try for you, I’d be happy to. I’ll post it back within a reasonable period obviously. I’m not aware of anyone using one presently.

I was wondering what ammo did you shoot the bottom target bull #6 and if I calculated correctly as I assume no cleaning during the entire 1000rds. that group was shot at number 230 rds.?

Lee
Those two targets were at the end of the 1000 round session. So that bull you describe is more like more like 920 rounds in, with no cleaning. All of the tiny 10 shot groups, were with one really good lot of RWS R50 I have. On the top target, bulls 6, 7, 8, and 15. On the bottom target, both sighters, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. It's just a really good shooting lot. Would there not have been ugly winds, and I had not been over 700 rounds in by the time I started shooting it... it would have done much better I think.

... and do keep in mind, due to the trigger issues I was having, a great many of these shots... I'm talking like at least 10% of the shots, the rifle hang-fired and went off as I took my finger off the trigger and barely touched the bolt knob. So I have a very reasonable expectation that things will shoot a lot better once this ignition problem has been addressed. It wasn't the right day for accuracy testing of any kind, for a lot of reasons. However, I do take pride in being able to print over 1000rnds on paper in 5 hours, and be able to consistently shoot 1/2" or better, off a field bipod and rear bag. There are a lot of groups in the .2's and .3's. I should have pulled them and measured for average. I do plan to do that in the future on a day more conducive to nice groups, once my trigger issue is sorted.

Wow that is impressive to go that many rounds and still shoot decent groups. you don't have to answer if it is proprietary information, is the chamber cut for minimum engraving?

Good luck with future testing, I am sure it will only get better initial results contrary to some is outstanding.

Thanks, my barrels have the same depth .600 but with a 1.5 leade (Nevius chamber). I never pushed round count past 200, before at least running a wet patch but I am shooting a different game.

Lee

Trigger problem sounds like a sear height issue . Some triggers are much more tolerant than others.
Bix triggers with a Bighorn are known issues. But I been through the whole seat height issue. Sounds to me like it's just a tad too high. Probably just the action was manufactured with tight tolerance and clearance.
Could also be the FP spring force is contributing to the hang up.

We have another reamer with 1.5 degree lead I’ll be using in next barrel.

I gave you an easy opportunity to be respectful and keep this thread on course. You seem to have me mistaken with someone that feels like arguing.

Ok... In order for us to argue, I guess I'll have to know exactly what it is you're claiming. I don't recall asking anyone if they agreed with me or if they had any rifles that will shoot better than this rifle I've shown here. What exactly are you claiming? ... because I can't even figure out what your goal is. What exactly are you trying to say? I share my opinion that the RimX is the best available right now. Are you saying my opinion is not valid? Are you saying your opinion is more valid than mine? Are you saying I'm wrong? Are you saying because you have rifles that shoot better than your RimX, that RimX's won't shoot? Are you just trying to stir up controversy by making open ended claims of how what I'm saying isn't true? Are you willing to drive to western south dakota to shoot against me and see just who is the better shooter with the better rifle, that's most reliable?

So before I respond further to you, I'd like to know what it is you are hoping to accomplish by your participation in THIS THREAD? You looking for validation, and someone to say you're the best shooter with the best rifles?

Once you clarify some things, maybe I'll respond to you further. ... because you keep arguing about accuracy and I'm still looking for where an accuracy claim was made.

Orkan,
Very nice looking gun and nice groups. Custom action rimfire have been around for several years for Benchrest years, starting with the 40X. Vudoo was the first to put this rimfire package together for PRS type matches. My post may start a fire storm, but for some reason, the Vudoo guys get butt hurt very easy. I not talking about the guy on this post, it is on every rimfire Forum. When the Bergara B14R came out, guy went nuts, it cheap, it's junk, copying the Vudoo, etc. It was not even out yet. Now that others custom action are coming out, it is starting for them. Guy you need to remember all of them are Clones of the Remington 40X action.
Orkan, you did kind stomp on the Vudoo's toes a bit. It think you hurt their feeling a bit, IMO. I think it is great to see other custom's coming out. It good for all of us.

The one thing I find refreshing about Orkan's approach on presenting this new rifle. complete transparency I ask about the chamber and he provide the specs. none of this marketing type answer of proprietary reamer special to this rifle and barrels are not some specially made blanks that are only available to the maker of the rifle.
in my eyes he is relying on the pure performance to sell this rifle, not some black magic type of marketing.
