Trying to decide on my next pistol. Help!

I know this is more of a rifle forum, but you guys enjoy fine firearms so I'll post it here also.
Wall of text, sorry.

So I have a budget of around $ 2500 (ish) and I'm itching for something new to me. Granted with that budget, the sky is nearly the limit, but boy do I have expensive taste, and accuracy is the most important thing to me when considering guns.

So far my thinking and thought process:
New Smith and wesson 617 with a scope or red dot.
Pros:
Cheap will leave money left on the table for other stuff
Will eat any .22s during a shortage
Want a double action revolver pretty badly
Cons:
Havnt heard the best in the accuracy department (big con)
Availability during these times.
I'm really really against the lock after I had a 642 become a paperweight. (Can be rectified with a plug but imo shouldn't be there in the first place)

Smith and wesson model 41 with a scope
Pros:
Accurate as heck
very affordable with my current budget.
Performance center version has a rail already
They're so gosh darn pretty.
Cons:
Ammo picky (needs standard velocity)
I already have a volquartsen scorpion. (That requires high velocity hmmmm)

Colt bankers special in .22
Pros:
Have a hankering for a double action .22
Would love a smol revolver to irritating friends with "betcha I can hit that with this" tomfoolery
Vintage colts imo are smooth as butter
Cons:
Pricey
I'm buying it to shoot and would be better off with a smith 34 (if I recall the model number correctly)
Vintage colts going out of timing is always a concern of mine
You never know what kind of joker owned it before me.

Freedom arms .22 revolver
Pros:
My trusty old ruger single 6 has been a crown jewel in my collection, and I'm known at my local desert trash heap as "that weird guy that doesnt miss with a .22 revolver" (no joke) the freedom arms would just be a nicer example.
Accurate as heck.
Could mount a scope or dot to it. (Probably hearsay but I dont care)
Not ammo picky
Cons:
Budget buster.
Not sure if I could order a shorter barrel on it. (I'd like under 5 inches)

Pardini free pistol
Pros:
Absolute accuracy.
Have bricks of high end standard velocity ammo stacked.
A rep posts on target talk regularly where I'm also a member.
I've wanted one for at least 5 years.
Cons:
Another budget buster.
Irons only.
Could get the same feeling with a high end air pistol in my back yard.

MGM barrel in 300blk with a supressor for my g2 contender
Pros:
Cheap(ish)
Accurate
Already have other mgm barrels and have been extremely happy with them
Cons:
Dont already have a suppressor and I have a hard time waiting and paying for my rights
My g2 frame is currently waiting for repair and I've never been happy with its trigger.
Ammo and component shortage.

1911 build based on an idea I have. Take a railed colt 1911 add a threaded barrel, suppressor and scope. Add a tiny bipod on it, bam! Looks like something the CIA wouldve tried to smuggle into Cuba in the 60s
Pros:
Would be cool as heck.
I love benching handguns and embarrassing ar dudes slapping steel at 200+ yards.
I like weird guns
Cons:
Paying for my rights and waiting.
Already have another high end 1911 build in the works.
Ammo and component shortages
Might be difficult to get the railed colt I want new in this market.
Might (knowing me would) bust the budget

Or a high end scope. For a 1911 build I have in the works.
Or just buy more precious metals.

Help!

I think youre wrong on the 617 and the model 41. Nobody considers the 617 inaccurate as far as i know and it takes a pretty champagne taste to call a model 41 cheap
The last time I thought about a 617 I read a few threads on rimfire central and the smith and wesson forums about new 617s not being nearly as accurate as they had hoped for, maybe it was a bad batch or just bad timing to research that model on the internet.

And by no means the 41 isnt "cheap" I suppose a better term would be very affordable with my current budget.

I have no wisdom to offer. I'll just console you that I am as confused as you are. I am having a very similar mental debate currently.

I have a 6" 617, and I love it. But I will admit that its accuracy is not comparable to my Valquartsen. I scoped the 617, and was still disappointed.

" Only accurate guns are interesting" (Actually distorted a bit, he said rifles, not guns.)
Townsend Whelen

"Wierd is cool"

If you are looking for accurate and unusual, consider a Hammerli 152 Electronic Trigger Free Pistol. In it's original factory case, with tools, instruction manual, spare weights, and cleaning supplies/rod. Well within your budget.
PM me if interested.

The choice of the "next" pistol would depend on your current inventory, no ?

(Please don't list your current inventory here for the world to take note)

I personally would like to own a Pardini .32 auto, however at this point in time is would be a toy, not a tool for competition. I imagine in the not too distant future, I will be buying a throwing Tomahawk with minute of foot accuracy.

If i can find a 4" revolver in 38 Special for the wife, at a price that doesn't make me cringe!!
Friday i plan on ordering a barrel for my match rifle build.
After it's done a Walther PPQ is "in my sights".

Have you considered a Manurhin revolver? A bit over budget but a serious grail gun. These are the legendary revolvers, I believe still carried by the French anti-terrorist guys. They concentrate on skill rather than 17 gazillion shot magazines and fire 150 practice rounds every single day. The MR73 is a .357mag that will shoot 150,000 full-house loads without going out of spec. Spec is a very scary 15 round group inside 20mm (0.79") at 25 meters. The .32 Match version uses the same frame with heavy barrel underlug for some heft. Up until recently the .32 Match could be seen competing at the ISSF worlds. I have not checked but the least expensive way to purchase may be to buy from a Canadian dealer for about US$2800 and have someone like Irunguns.com handle the transfer to your stateside ffl for about $200.

@Hermantk
Forgot about those revolvers, I really love the "sniper" version you only see pictures of in their hands. I've never seen one of those in a private collection.

The mr73 is about the only centerfire revolver I'd be interested in. Good call.

They are a treat. The Korth shows more attention to finishing detail but i am told is less accurate than the MR73 or MR 32 Match, less robust build, without the legendary history and about US$4900 here in Canada so more than a bit off our budgets.

Love the P210. you could also try to find a P240, built by Sig-Hammerli in Switzerland up until maybe the early '90s. The native caliber is .38 WC but that can be switched out for a .22lr or a .32 WC. Another deadly accurate (Swiss-made quality) pistol that has more than it's share of ISSF World gold medals. About $3k these days. The wadcutter projectiles won't likely blow anyone away but will stop anyone in their tracks.

Or is you want to have some real fun, how about a Bill Davis custom .357 based from the '70s built on a S&W 10- or 14- K-frame with a very heavy bull barrel and Aristocrat sights. There are still a lot around on broker etc. for about $1200-1500 in excellent condition. Great for rapid fire

Pretty sure I'm going to go with the spooky 1911 build. Thanks for all the help gents. Now to learn about suppressors hahaha

Don't discount a 6 shot smith either. Mine will do 2" at 50 yards off the bench. And the dot covers that much anyway
