Trouble seeing the little dot

I have been using the NP-2DD reticle for many years and really like it. However, as I get older, that tiny little dot between the horizontal lines gets harder to find.

I started putting the dot just above the target X ring in the white area and that has made it a little easier to see. I've also tried using the horizontal lines and the single vertical line to put me at the X ring. This works okay, but not as well as putting the dot just above the X ring.

I'm thinking about have my prescription changed on my shooting glasses that would enable me to see the dot a little better, but then I may not be able to see the X ring as clear.

Anyone else have a solution?

I have the same issue and have noticed that as my contact lens prescription increases with age (I'm nearsighted), the problem becomes worse because my corrective lenses make images smaller. The only solution I have found so far is using a different reticle or scope. The NP-2DD reticle dot appears slightly smaller and harder to visualize against the target black or in low light conditions than a 0.125 MOA dot in a different scope. I can easily see the 0.125 MOA dot, but the smaller NP-2DD dot is sometimes hard to see against the target black on cloudy days or early in the morning. The only potential solution I have come across that I'm sure would work would be switching to a March scope, as they offer a range of larger aiming dot sizes. Alternatively, a hashmark reticle might be an improvement over a dot, as the lines/stadia tend to draw ones eye to the middle.

I was having trouble seeing for 3 years. Kept complaining to my Optometrist who I really liked. Finally went to a new Dr. She said my right eye prescription was way too strong, which I had questioned the previous Dr about. The improvement this past year has been dramatic. Don't get stuck in a rut. Good luck, we are all getting older with more worn out parts, lol.
