Trouble Getting Stress Free Bedding

I wrap at the end of the stock to center it up and then zip tie at the back of the action to hold it down. I’ve been happy with the results.

Some very good info here - I'm glad I asked for advice. I had assumed that the tape near the front of the forend would make the action want to sink into the bedding. But the balance point bedding is intriguing, and I never considered the action lifting back up with surgical tubing. I was worried to not induce stress and might have actually not wrapped tight enough to prevent movement. Same when I taped the barrel with electric tape.

Some good info here. I'll borrow from some of these ideas for the next time. I'm still tempted to re do the whole thing but roughing up the tang bedding and just doing that part would be a whole lot more simple...

No reason not to try that, it just might work … I M O

I put spacers on top of the pillars that will position the barreled action where I want it to be. Then I tighten the action screws down tight. After the epoxy cures, I remove the spacers.
