Tripod Rebuild

A buddy lost his hunting lease and had to remove all the ladder and tripod stands. Some were modified for bow hunting. I’m going to rebuild two and make them useable again. I made two circular shooting rails yesterday out of 3/4” EMT and will mount them to the tripod base.

I didn’t take pictures of the stands before we took them down but the guy who had the previous lease used Gorilla tape ( lots of Gorilla tape) to hold the wood cross braces together. What a bugger to get off. Still sticky after many years.

It would have been easier to use screws! I bet he went out one day to check the stands and had an aha moment and decided to put those up. The only thing he had on hand was gorilla tape...lol.

The guy that inherited all this said the guys would build complete stands with Gorilla tape. Should introduce him to a cordless drill and deck screws.
