Trimmer purchase advice

Best manual trimmer is the Wilson. If you are going to buy a new Wilson make sure it's the newest version. They upgraded a few parts. I would also recommend getting the SS.

Oh...and to answer the question you are going to ask in a couple of months- get a Giraud. 8)

Really only one choice if quality-accuracy-and ease of use-get a Wilson with the Sinclair upgrades (espicially the micrometer adjustment).

I have both wilson and forster. forster is much faster but not quiet as accurate. I solve the centering problem inherent in the forster by turning the case with the cutter as i tighten the collet. I also polish the pilots down a couple of thousandsths so they don't rub on the inside of the necks. the wilson is slower but can do other operations such as ream primer pockets and in side chamfer necks. if you ream primer pockets on the wilson the primer seating "feel" is much improved. another time saver with wilson is to have more than one trimmer and do several ops while in the same shell holder. I also made a power adapter for my forster like this I screwed the trimmer on a block of wood about 2-1/4" square by 16" long. put forster power adapter on the trimmer shaft and installed the drill motor, measured the distance from the block of wood up to the drill motor body and made a block of wood that thickness and tapped ( you could also glue it or screw it) it to the base block to support the drill motor. I've been using it for about 6 yrs and have not had any problems. sorry for such a long post but it will give you some other options/ ideas.
regards and good luck,
Darrell
