Anybody have a clue as to the "trim to" length on the 6.5X47 Lapua?

Shouldn't that rely on what YOUR chamber length is ??????

1.843 is what the new VV manual calls for but I think preacher is right especially for custom chambers. Sinclair has a cheap gauge for measuring that portion of the chamber and it can be re-used. Bill

Is the VV data manual downloadable and if so where can it be foun? BTW, the reamer is from Kiff and it is probably his standard reamer as no special request was used when the reamer was ordered.

Hammer, The info is on page # 124 of manual # 4 edtion. I don't know if it is downloadable or not. I would think your reamer is going to be standard if no special request were made. Bill

I got the PT&G reamer with 0.159 freebore and looking at the diagram sent with it, the chamber size is 1.8606. Just how much shorter the case length should be over the chamber length I dont know. So long as the case length is less than 1.8606 you will be able to chamber a round. Measuring new Lapua brass gives me 1.843 which is what I've been using as my case length.

For the ideal length of the case I'm hoping somebody on this site knows just how much shorter/longer the case should be. The Lapua Reloading Manual states 1.843" the same as somebody else posted earlier.
