Trijicon World Championship?

Did anyone go to and compete in the Trijicon World Championship at Peacemaker Range in West Virginia last week? Would like to hear some feedback about the match.

Had a buddy go there and try his luck. He was really disappointed in the turnout. Only had 159 shooters, the organizers were saying there would be 400. I wasn't there, but heard there was only one flush toilet on the 2000 acre property and slim on porta johns. Didn't seem like a "World Championship" to buddy based on participation and quality of the venue. He said it was really a primitive, unimproved range.

Just looking for a second opinion before I decide to do this next year.

THANKS

Don't do it. That is, unless you're all about speed. Anything to do with precision was either cancelled/discarded (the Bullseye pistol stage was thrown out after 2/3 of shooters had shot it...just so happens it was cancelled immediately after the match winner and a few contenders shot the stage, including visible misses). Other precision stages (smallbore rifle and F-class) were "discounted". Originally told all stages would be equally weighted. Smallbore was 15 shots at 25 yards (on a 100 yard target!), standing, kneeling, sitting. Total score of 150 possible. To get the "standardized" score, multiplied by 2/3 (for a total possible of 100 points). Per cent scores ranged from roughly 80-85% to 100%. Same with F-class. Speed events were based on speed of the fastest shooter, and scores ranged from 0% to 100%...so if you were fast, you did well. If you were precise, there was no ground to be made up. Rules and composition of the match changed mid match (moving goal posts), and when they realized they couldn't get enough $500 shooters, created an "amateur" class for $200...still only got 160 shooters. Lots of bitter grapes for me (asked for a refund when bullseye was cancelled before shooting next stage, told no chance...refund offers made to other shooters on last day of match).
