Considering lightening up the heavy (maybe 8#) trigger on my Ruger AR. What trigger are you using and what weight?
A hunting application. My bolt action hunting rifles don’t get below 2 pounds and 3 to 3 1/4 doesn’t bother me much. Not sure if that applies to this action but if so, a single stage I assume or two stage? I‘m not sure why I would want one over the other. For hunting or target shooting?
All of mine are at #3
You can buy a nice drop in trigger for around $200
8lbs. is crazy heavy![]()

You won't go wrong with a Rise RA-140 drop in trigger. They are single stage, non adjustable, weight falls in the 3-3 1/2# range. There could be a new product # for it now. Same trigger. Great hunting trigger. 2 stage are nice for target but I absolutely hate them for hunting.
These are solid triggers. With a purple ALG hammer spring the trigger pull is 1.75-2lbs.Larue.com is having a sale on their MBT-2S. 2# takeup & 2.5# second stage.
