Trigger RPA

Randy Gregory up in Wisconsin has done some work with hangers for the Quadlite. 715 748 4427 Not the easiest conversion.

Any one have or make a trigger hanger to fit a Jewell BR trigger to an RPA Quadlite action?

Regard
Do a search for that action. The company is in Great Britain and they may have a hanger for the Jewel. I bought a used Quadlite and it came with a Jewel trigger.

Contact HPS in the UK and TripleJ in Australia. They might have some.

Would be a long shot but Okweber might (that is where I got mine from many years ago).

I have two Quadlites, both came with hangers.

The first one had a Jewell mounted to it before the CG triggers were available her back around 2008.

Each hanger was unique in some way to the action it came with, enough that it wouldn’t work with the other....

If you should somehow find one it may or may not work on your action.

Randy G. however is fully capable of making you one that’ll work but of course he’d need the action to ensure that outcome.

Randy Gregory, same fellow Clowdis gave you the phone number for.

Here's a link to his website.

(I have to wonder whether your Quadlite was originally supplied with a trigger hanger or if OEM RPA triggers don't need hangers? I guess I was lucky in that both of mine included hangers... even if they're not interchangeable....)

The 'blue' trigger is what RPA manufacture for the Quadlite and it bolts directly to the action as you imagine. I bought my action in 2002/2003 or so and it came with the hanger. I've had a few triggers over the years, currently a Centra which is a newer version of the CG, the worst was the blue trigger.

Hello Richard
I contacted the person that I purchased the Quadlite from, when he purchased the action new it did not come with trigger and he had a Davies trigger fitted. The Davies are very good triggers but a bit too heavy for my liking and after some research found that they are the designed for 1 to 1.5 kg pull, hence looking for a different trigger.

Phil,

As Recko555 stated, if RPA don't respond, then I'm sure HPS could supply the hanger, they're very helpful.

I have used a Davies trigger but that was on a Barnard action a few years ago, as you say good triggers but designed for sling shooting with heavier pull weights.

Richard.

Hi Clowdis, yes I did and as yet no reply, I also contacted HPS and talked with Matt, I have decided to get a Blue trigger.
Thanks to every one for the replies, this is a very helpfull forum.

Phil

I use the blue trigger with mine and I think it's "ok". I have better triggers in other actions but with all the options you have (not many) the blue trigger will work fine. Adjustment can be tedious but the directions are pretty good.

I've got an RPA2000 Palma rifle. It came with a Davies trigger which was fine until I tried to get it too light, and then it went unstable. I replaced it with an early version of the Chombard M700 trigger that I want to say came from Australia. Quality was a bit marginal and Mr. Chombard replaced it with a new version from the manufacturer in the US. For whatever reason, that trigger's sear sat lower than the previous two and when they couldn't/wouldn't fix it, I ended up making a new hanger to raise the trigger sear to the height of the previous ones. It's not hard to make. I'm a home shop guy and after some careful measurements it was straight forward mill work. I still have the original hanger and can check dimensions if it would help. Don't know if the pattern is the same or not.

Thanks clowdis and gzig5, I have a blue trigger in my other Quadlite and have started proceedings in getting another one. But I would like the dimensions if its not to much trouble gzig5, I have a Barnard hanger I'll be able to see if its close.
