Trigger pins, fit in trigger

Have a new to me barreled action. Lawton action, Jewel trigger. Pins fit receiver good but not the trigger. Would need to use punch and hammer to get them through. What's the best solution?

Thanks in advance,Paul

Trigger came with the barreled action?
How did the previous owner deal with this?
Do the pins fit the trigger when it's not being installed but the holes don't line up with the action?
I'd first ask Jewell, then - depending on what their reply is - you may want to query the Lawton folks.
Pin holes can be honed but if the pin spacing needs 'adjustment' that's going to be trickier.

Install the rear pin first, then drift in the front pin. If you do it in reverse you can bend the ears of the trigger housing and bind the sear a bit.

The pins were tight when I took it apart. I am correct thinking that the trigger should freely float on the pins? I will measure the spacing tomorrow and report back.

Ok, this is to the best of my ability and what I have to work with (pin gauges and mic's).

receiver;
rear hole .1277
front .1267
1.4306 on ctr.

trigger;
rear hole .1250
front .1257
1.4304 on ctr.

Again, not claiming perfect, just to the best I could do with what I had to work with.

Thanks, Paul

Looks pretty simple. Rear trigger hole would be tight on a 0.125 pin. Open up the hole a few tenths with a needle file or a reamer. Nothing wrong with a snug fit that needs a punch and a light hammer tap or two. I see no reason why the trigger has to float freely.

Would turning the pins down to fit do you any good? You're only 27/ 10000 from largest to smallest, I would think not a big deal. Just a thought. trigger pins are a bit cheaper than triggers or actions.
