Trigger Opinion

Since Jewel triggers have become extinct, what brand would yall suggest. I need a 700 trigger with top right safety and no bolt release. No 2 stage triggers!! For an only off a bench prairie dog gun, lite trigger pull.

will they adjust down to 1.5 - 2 oz like the Jewel? I think I might have one in one of my Vudoo’s, a red trigger.
About 4

Bix goes lower, but I’m not resetting my engagement every time I clean the trigger, which is recommended and encouraged to be done regularly.

I understand that’s what some guys will have to do though. Bix makes a great trigger, just not great for my needs.

Sounds like a Diamond. No, they will not adjust down to 2 .oz. They are smooth and reliable. I have one in my Vudoo.

Look at Bix N Andy or Timney in their HIT Series.

Bix makes a BR trigger that will go down in the 2oz range.

The TT Diamond can get to 4 ozs. BUT it may take some rounds to get there. I was getting slam fires at 10 ozs , called TT and was told it may several HUNDRED rounds before the springs took a set. I've never had to break a trigger in like that before. It didn't take several hundred, but it took a few.

Define lite haha.

I also get slam fires in my new TT when set to 4oz. that's good to hear it worked itself out.

That being said the TT diamond is a great trigger. Incredibly crisp break. Zero take up. Feels amazing. I also have a shilen that goes down to 2oz but it does not have a safety. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe those triggers come with a safety. Mine also has a wee bit of creep that I can't take out, but I love that trigger too.

Been suggested on her multiple times but the Bix n Andy tac sport pro X will be my next trigger. Talked with a few guys in here that have replaced their TT diamonds with the Bix. Goes down to 3.5 oz and has options that the diamond does not.

When the issue of Jewel going away became a problem , I spoke with some very high-ranked shooters art my local range , ( Ben Avery ) and they suggested Shilen . I purchased one as a "Back-up" , and very happy with the choice . Almost the same "feel" as my Jewel . Have noticed no difference in my Panda , or on the Target .

I have a few Shilens and like them.
I had an older Shilen. bought from a friend some years ago. He had no use for it, as it didn't have the bolt release for a 700 action. I fitted it on a Barnard S action - my first FTR rifle. Superb!. I really would not change it out. I have several good triggers - and the old Shilen is among the best.
