Trigger help

Since I'm working on my first BR rifle, need some pro's and con's
of these two triggers. Other than the price difference
Going on a Bat B action and want about 2oz. pull
The Jewell BR or Jewell HVR
The Bix'n Andy

Jewell BR has been the standard for many years. A few years ago I switched to B&A's on 3 BR rifles. After some issues, I've passed them on to others and my rifles now sport Flavio Fare triggers. But I still carry spare Jewells in the tool box. So the skinny on your first BR trigger is that it likely will not be your last. At 1 to 2 oz, an out-of-the box Jewell BR is fantastic. B&A and FF mentioned are typically set up a lot lighter than that (1/2 oz?).

BR triggers are amazing for what they do, and frustrating when they fail us. Super-precision pieces of equipment that usually don't get the extreme care they deserve. A Jewell will keep shooting safely and consistently long after it should have stopped because of dirt, dust, cleaning fluid, and gunk. The others are more sensitive, both in feel and in temperament when neglected or "abused". I can tell you from experience that a hint of moisture or lube inside a trigger body can be the difference between first and last.

If you have the money for the Bix I suggest getting 2 Jewell( BR ). The new ones should be taken apart and checked /cleaned up which is easily done. It is smart to have a back-up trigger, eventually, that will turn into a back-up gun. When that day comes.....You will already have the trigger...........Welcome to BR.

+1^^^ Get 2 Jewell's from Great Scott Triggers and you're set. I've only had to use a back up trigger 2 times in 10 years that I can recall, but was glad I had one close. They seem to go out on a day or two before a match. JME. WD

Jewell,Timney,and tuned factory is the only ones I'm familiar with and hands down the Jewell is superior in every way to those to me anyhow....

I run a PQP trigger from Killoughs & Jewel.
The PQP IS SUPER EASY To adjust to a incredible low pull weight.
THE JEWEL is super comfortable to touch off but a pain to adjust on the fly.

I’ve got a couple of Bix’s, FF’s and now a Jewell. As CubCouper pointed out the Bix and FF don’t like dirt/dust. I shoot F-class and my triggers will get dusted in spite if my best efforts to protect my actions in dirty environments. I switched to a Jewell and so far no quirks. I prefer the feel of my Flavio Fare’s over the other two but the target can’t tell a difference. I agree with getting two Jewell triggers for the price of one Bix.

The have a couple of the new FF Whisper 2.0 and they are sealed up nicely compared to the old one.
